Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Huawei Mate X6 has officially launched in Indonesia and will be available for order starting March 13, 2025. This flagship-class device marks the arrival of Huawei’s first foldable smartphone in the country.

Huiler Fan, CEO of Huawei Device Indonesia, stated that the company aims to develop products that deliver a heartwarming experience to global consumers, including the Mate X6. “We have a product that combines our fashion-forward approach and our commitment to creating beauty. We embrace high fashion and ultimate expression in style, working together to redefine what it means to be a true flagship product,” Huiler Fan said during the Huawei Mate X6 launch event at the Park Hyatt Jakarta in Menteng, Central Jakarta (03/11).

The latest release boasts standout features such as an ultra-chroma camera and live multitasking capabilities, catering to entertainment and productivity needs. The device features an orbit camera design with a 50 MP ultra-aperture camera, a 40 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48 MP micro telephoto camera. The live multitasking feature allows users to run three applications simultaneously on the expansive screen when unfolded, enabling video calls while reviewing presentations or taking notes simultaneously.

Supporting macro photography

For those who enjoy traveling in Indonesia, Edy Supartono, Senior Retail Manager at Huawei Device Indonesia, recommends using the snapshot flashback feature to capture every journey detail. He said, “The flashback feature supports macro photography, such as capturing scenes descending a mountain or even behind aquarium glass. For those interested in macro photography, the latest extended depth of field allows for detailed close-up shots of macro subjects.”

The device features second-generation Kunlun glass on the outer screen and fiber material for the inner screen. The composite lamination structure, which includes a carbon fiber plate on the inner screen, is claimed to enhance screen durability. The mid-frame is made of aviation-grade aluminum, which is 37% stronger than standard aluminum, providing better resistance to bending and pressure.

In extreme impact tests, the device survived without significant damage. The hinge is made of 1,900 MPa high-strength steel, increasing its durability by 27%. This allows the smartphone to be folded and unfolded repeatedly. The smartphone is IPX8 water-resistant up to a depth of 2 meters, making it safe from rain or water splashes.

Efficient in dissipating heat

The quad-curve design is wrapped in a vegan leather case in nebula red and black. The Huawei Mate X6 weighs 239 grams and is 9.85 mm thick when folded and only 4.6 mm when unfolded. The battery has a capacity of 5,110 mAh and supports 60W fast charging.

The innovative cooling system improves heat dissipation by up to 30% for better performance. The cooling design includes a graphene layer and a 3D VC heat spreader. The graphene has ultra-high thermal conductivity, making it 33% more efficient at dissipating heat. This helps cool the device quickly during intensive use, such as gaming or video calls.

As one of the first users of the Mate X6 in Indonesia, Putri Tanjung, CEO of Trans Digital Lifestyle Group, shared her impressions of the device in three words: powerful, flexible, and innovative. “First is powerful, it’s the most important. Second is flexible since in this world, we must be able to adapt as positions constantly change, and we always need the best. Hence, innovation is the most crucial,” Putri said (03/11).

This foldable smartphone will be available online through the Huawei Official Store on several leading e-commerce platforms and offline at official stores such as Huawei Authorized Experience Stores, Erafone retail networks, Urban Republic, and trusted partner stores across Indonesia. The Huawei Mate X6 is priced at Rp29,999,000, with an exclusive introductory price of Rp24,999,000.
