Heaptalk, Jakarta — Garmin has launched its latest devices for the golf ecosystem: the Approach S50 smartwatch, the Approach G20 Solar handheld, and the Approach CT1 club tracker. All three are designed to provide a comprehensive golfing experience for both beginners and professionals.

Sky Chen, Regional Director of Garmin Southeast Asia, shared that the launch of these three products is expected to offer innovative options for golf enthusiasts. “These devices combine stylish design with advanced features that allow golfers to plan their best strategies, accurately track game data, and optimize their health and fitness off the course,” said Sky Chen.

The Approach S50 is designed for golfers who need critical information from the tee box to the green. Featuring a sharp 1.2-inch color AMOLED display, this smartwatch comes preloaded with maps of over 43,000 golf courses worldwide. Players can use the hazard view feature to understand how to avoid bunkers, water hazards, and layup areas, as well as obtain assistance in deciding which club to use by understanding distances to the front, middle, and back of the green.

This smartwatch also functions as a health tracker for daily needs. Some of its features include wrist-based heart rate monitoring, preloaded activities, morning reports, body battery energy monitoring, fitness age tracking, and women’s health tracking. Users can also listen to music or podcasts on Spotify. The device’s battery lasts up to 10 days in smartwatch mode and 15 hours in GPS mode.

The Approach G20 Solar is the first handheld GPS device to utilize solar power technology in golf ecosystem. It features a high-contrast 2.2-inch display that is easily read, even in direct sunlight. With larger text size, players can see distances to the front, middle, and back of the green, as well as monitor hazards and doglegs on the course. This feature allows golfers of all ages to use the device effortlessly, even in extreme lighting conditions.

In sunny conditions, the device can last for more than 30 rounds of golf without needing a charge. Key features of this handheld include a bright display, larger text size, preloaded courses, shot tracking with Approach CT10, green view, Garmin Golf compatibility, a compact design, and an IPX7 rating.

The Approach S50 smartwatch is compatible with Approach CT1 tracking tags. These tags are attached to the grip of golf clubs and collect data from every club in the bag—from the driver to the putter—recording shot location, distance, and club type. Before taking a shot, players tap the tag on their smartwatch to record statistics on their wrist.

On the course, golfers can use Approach CT1 tags to see how far they typically hit with each club and view accuracy statistics toward the fairway or green. After playing, users can utilize the Garmin Golf app to analyze strokes gained for each game and identify areas for improvement.

These three additions to the golf ecosystem are available at Garmin Brand Stores offline. The Approach S50 smartwatch and Approach G20 handheld can be purchased online through Garmin Official Stores on Tokopedia, Shopee, Blibli, Lazada, and Eraspace. Meanwhile, the Approach CT1 club tracker will be available starting March 25, 2025, at all Garmin Official Online Stores. The Approach S50 smartwatch is priced at Rp7,159,000, the Approach G20 handheld at Rp5,349,000, and the club tracker at Rp1,799,000.
