Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Garmin Fenix 8 was officially introduced to the Indonesian market (09/20). This multisport GPS smartwatch comes equipped with an electrocardiogram (ECG) app to help users monitor their heart rhythm.
This device offers both AMOLED and solar screen options. The 51mm AMOLED model provides up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, while the 51mm solar model offers up to 48 days. The solar screen is equipped with a third-generation solar charging lens that can absorb 50% more solar power than its predecessor.
The Fenix 8 Series has enhanced diving capabilities, allowing users to dive up to a maximum of 40 meters. It also features leak-proof metal buttons and supports scuba diving and apnea activities. With an embedded speaker and internal microphone, users can make and receive phone calls from the watch when integrated with a compatible smartphone. Users can also activate certain voice commands, such as ‘Start running,’ ‘Set timer for 5 minutes,’ ‘Turn on flashlight,’ and more, directly from the smartwatch without needing to connect to a smartphone.
Supporting dynamic round-trip routing

“This Fenix 8 is a smartwatch that helps us perform better, break boundaries, and be limitless in all aspects of life—whether in personal life, physical performance, or sports. The Fenix 8 comes in two versions. The first version is almost the same as the previous Fenix model with Solar technology, and the new version comes with a bright AMOLED display,” Chandrawidhi Desideriani, Marcom Senior Manager of Garmin Indonesia, said in South Jakarta on September 20.
Additionally, the dynamic round-trip routing feature allows users to input a distance into the smartwatch and receive a suggested route. This ensures that while exploring, users can stay on track and manage their time with a dynamic round-trip route. Chandrawidhi further described this series as the ultimate smartwatch that helps its users plan their daily activities, training, and adventures. These capabilities ensure that users are ready to face challenges and break boundaries.
The latest smartwatch from Garmin Indonesia is available exclusively on Tokopedia and Garmin Brand Stores across Indonesia, with prices ranging from Rp17.9 million to Rp21.5 million. In addition to the Fenix 8, the brand also introduced the Fenix E, a more affordable version of the Fenix series, priced at Rp14.3 million.
