Currently, DesktopIP is in collaboration with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to embed Indonesian standardized security tools on Jaybod through encryption features.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — DesktopIP, a cloud-based digital enablement provider, released the latest version of its cloud storage service named Jaybod 3.0.0. This version is equipped with enhanced data security through an encryption feature.
In essence, the encryption feature allows information or data in files not to be opened and read by parties who do not have access in the form of a passcode. This feature makes users feel safe in storing and sending data.
CEO of DesktopIP Phidi Soepangkat delivered that data security is the fundamental part of localized customization developed for Jaybod and DesktopIP products as a whole. “For Jaybod, in particular, and DesktopIP’s products as a whole ecosystem, our main focus is to create a localized customization and secure platform. In general, localized customization is carried out by adjusting the platform to the demands or needs of users, both personal and institutional, including the components in it,” Phidi said.
According to him, currently, users are not only seeking security as the main factor in using cloud storage but also the convenience that can be created through localized customization. This aspect is captured by DesktopIP as an opportunity to meet existing market demands.
Partnering with BSSN to embed local security tools
Phidi further explained, “Currently, every country is concerned about protecting the information and data they have. However, they also have data security policies that may differ from one another. For that reason, we link the concept of localized customization with security. We develop unique and modular product components to suit security needs.”
Currently, DesktopIP is in collaboration with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to embed Indonesian standardized security tools on Jaybod. Previously, the Company has equipped its cloud storage with international standard security. This security embedding from BSSN is a form of localized customization carried out by DesktopIP for users in Indonesia.
Perceiving how it works, firstly users save the file on Jaybod, choose the encryption mode, and create an encryption passcode. After that, the file is successfully encrypted and cannot be accessed by anyone except by using the passcode that was created earlier.
Additionally, Jaybod has made preventive efforts against attempts to download and access encrypted files by damaging the file so that it cannot be read by anyone without a passcode. Thus, the security of the information in the file can be guaranteed from theft and misuse of data.
