Heaptalk, Jakarta — Volta, a subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia (NFCX), part of the MCash Group, announced a collaboration with Garuda Food through its subsidiary and FMCG product distributor, PT Sinar Niaga Sejahtera (SNS), to expand electric motorcycle adoption.
Through this collaboration, SNS will utilize Volta electric motorcycles to support and modernize its product distribution process. The partnership aims to distribute up to 500 electric motorcycles by the end of 2024. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce operational costs while enhancing the sales team’s safety and comfort.
This partnership also significantly contributes to national efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability, aligning with the shared commitment to addressing climate change challenges. The electric motorcycle ownership program also collaborates with BNI to facilitate individual access to eco-friendly vehicles.
Creating cleaner business mobility
Okie Octavia Kurniawan, CEO of Volta and Director of NFCX, stated that this initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable technology. He claimed that Volta electric motorcycles are designed to deliver operational efficiency while reducing the carbon footprint. Okie is optimistic that this project will significantly benefit Garuda Food and SNS and support broader environmental goals.
“By utilizing electric motorcycles as a transportation solution, Volta and Garuda Food are setting a new paradigm for cleaner and more efficient business mobility throughout the FMCG supply chain. We hope to inspire other companies to adopt more environmentally friendly practices and accelerate efforts to reduce their carbon footprint,” Okie added.
On the occasion, PT SNS President Director Ruli Tobing explained that the initial phase of adopting electric motorcycles would be for SNS salesmen in Greater Jakarta. The electric motorcycles to be adopted have specifications and features that can support the salesmen’s performance.
“The first phase of electric motorcycle use will focus on the Jabodetabek area for our salesmen. By launching these electric motorcycles, we hope to motivate our salesmen to be more productive and efficient in their increasingly practical operational activities while contributing positively to the environment,” Ruli concluded.
