Heaptalk, Jakarta – PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) sought to improve the car export performance of Completely Build-Up (CBU) manufactured in Indonesia. According to Toyota Indonesia, the Company’s export amount gradually moves towards recovery.

In 2021, throughout Q1, the Company recorded that Toyota CBU car export reached 49,200 units, increased 2% compared to Q IV yoy that reached 48,000 units. The number is close to last year’s sales amount before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, namely 50,000 units in Q1 yoy.

“The achievement of TMMIN and the other automotive business actors was created due to the positive impact of various Government policies amidst the pandemic. The Government has disbursed subsidies and stimulation to the industry sector, especially MSMEs in the survival period. Indonesia authority also delivered stimulation to enhance purchasing power and drove economic growth in the recovery period that currently starts. We expect the export condition of the Indonesia automotive industry this year has gradually started to recover, at least reach 80% of the previous achievement before the Covid-19 hit the world. Toyota Indonesia strives to improve export performance by providing car with an international quality standard that is appropriate for the needs of the respective market. The action is also in line with the Government’s effort to promote export,” said Bob Azam, the Director of TMMIN Corporate Affairs.

In the Complete Knock Down (CKD) segment, the Company recorded has exported 16,750 units. In addition, as one of the biggest automotive Companies in Indonesia, the Entity who dive in producing fuel and ethanol machines has shipped TR and NR types of the machines with a total number of 32,000 units, and the component support up to 25 million units.

The Company established for 50 years stated it aims to contribute to the nation and people through industry development from upstream to downstream, local supply chain, and SME. In line with its philosophy ‘Make People Before Make Product’, the industry development is sustained by excellent Human Capital development.

Besides, Toyota Indonesia also supports Indonesia automotive industry that is reflected through export activities that generate a positive impact on the national economy. According to Toyota Indonesia, the Company has reversed the condition, from an importer to an exporter. Today, the Company becomes a producer for cars and some machines in more than 80 countries in the world.

“We want to continuously enhance Toyota indonesia’s vital role as one of the production basis and exporter for Toyota in the global market. Particularly with Toyota Indonesia’s plan right now to produce Hybrid EV in 2022 for domestic market and export needs. The plan is under the spirit of Toyota Indonesia 50 years old celebration, to constantly contribute to our beloved nation,” stated Bob.
