Heaptalk, Jakarta — Tinkerlust, a marketplace for preloved luxury fashion, has officially released its mobile luxury fashion application (03/14). The Tinkerlust mobile app is downloadable through the Play Store for Android devices and App Store for iOS users.
The launch of Tinkerlust’s mobile application intends to simplify users’ buying and selling process. Also, through this innovation, Tinkerlust aims to contribute to sustainable fashion and a circular economy by lengthening the fashion life of people.
As delivered by Tinkerlust’s Co-Founder and COO of Tinkerlust, Aliya Amitra, during the launch agenda, “By launching this mobile application, we aim to continue to support sustainability and circular economy in Indonesia. The Tinkerlust’s app would simplify our buyers and sellers to peddle their fashion stuff to overstay their fashion ages,”
To ensure the product quality peddled on the platform, Tinkerlust has also involved numerous company curators and foreign third parties in issuing a certificate of authenticity of the product traded.
“We have also cooperated with Tinkerlust’s featured sellers, a public figure community who has curated their preloved products to be peddled in the Tinkerlust platform for approximately one month during this platform launch period,” added Aliya.
Tinkerlust’s business accretion
Currently, this startup was established in 2016 as a website-based buying and selling platform for preloved luxury fashion for women with a consignment system. During its business progress, this fashion industry startup enhanced its features, including preloved luxury fashion for men in 2020 and fast-selling features replenishment in 2021.
Tinkerlust has recorded more than 2.2 million users within five years as the fashion industry platform. On the other hand, during its business journey, this fashion has evolved its Gross Merchant Value (GMV) up to 750% and demonstrated a business revenue of 250%.
Meanwhile, this startup has increased the number of registered sellers to 335% within five years. Through the launch of this mobile app, Tinkerlust will focus on doubling the number of sellers this year, expecting to fulfill more products aligned with customer needs.
“We decided to launch our mobile application as we perceived a more digital savvy among society. They have also been motivated to vend their unused items because the preloved selling scheme is more common among them. By launching this mobile-friendly app, we also aim to reduce the fashion waste quantity, as the fashion sector is one of the most significant waste contributors worldwide,” said Tinkerlust’s Co-Founder and CEO, Samira Shihab.
