The adjusted technology trends in 2023 are believed to boost business operations, particularly to mitigate business risks more quickly.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The technology evolution and complex business issues continue to emerge. Information Technology professionals will face new challenges with numerous positive and negative transformations in the coming year. Responding to this phenomenon, the Managing Director of Kyndryl Indonesia, Sean Lee anticipates enterprises can mitigate business risk directly.

The IT Infrastructure service company, Kyndryl, in collaboration with diverse ASEAN and worldwide enterprises, backs them in overcoming the most critical business objectives through modern methods. For this reason, Sean Lee spreads the new technology trends in 2023 that business leaders should understand.

1. Cyber resilience will overtake cybersecurity as a critical security issue

Around 88% of the company’s representatives perceived cyber security as a business risk rather than a technology risk. According to the Gartner survey, cyber resilience is no longer a problem for the Chief Information Security Officer this year. On the other hand, several heads of leading organizations are estimated to be a part of the discussion to synchronize their perspective related to this point.

2. AI ethics will be a must

The AI solutions for overcoming trust, risk, ethics, security, and transparency would be prioritized. People will oversee solutions that target personalized insight regarding multiple aspects, spanning the risk, credit, underwriter, and recommendation machine to determine a dynamic price that will influence buying resolution. Data observation is critical to enhancing AI systems in performing business. Without the sturdy and secure data and DataOps foundation, business practitioners would be delicate in scaling and democratizing data consumption.

3. Cloud computing will drive innovation

Enterprises that adopted cloud computing before the Pandemic hit the world are predicted to gain better value to execute business pivots, use the opportunity, and generate new income. Cloud computing implementation can provide the most prompt toward innovations and flexibility to run business operations during challenging moments.

4. Companies will adopt distributed cloud computing

The companies must apply distributed cloud computation when implementing a connected model between cloud computing and edge computing. The distributed model delivers several benefits, including data visualization and new Web3 activation. In the distributed cloud computing ecosystem, the workload is synchronized with particular resources to fulfill edge computing while centrally managed by a public cloud computing provider.

5. Cloud computing network will evolve

Several business sectors have utilized diverse connectivity to cloud computing. As a result, numerous experts have observed an increase in service providers virtualizing network infrastructure and providing it as a service to various enterprises. However, many companies do not contain direct-to-enterprise channels, impacting an increased demand for integrating connectivity with managed services and helping enterprises handle multiple networks.

6. Private wireless 5G network to surpass industry 4.0

Multiple industries have implemented wireless solutions and private edge computing, spanning manufacturing, petrochemical, gas, and energy. This scheme is intended to drive business efficiencies and cost savings, but other segments, including retail sectors, are still lagging.

Therefore, 2023 is anticipated to be a popularity momentum for the private wireless 5G network, whereby the retail industry will lead the position. The business activity covers cashier-less, real-time analytics, personalized promotion, asset tracking, supply chain optimization, private wireless, and edge computing. These technologies would be a key to unlocking new shopping experiences devoted to the next generation.

7. A personalized digital work environment for employees is a must-have for hybrid jobs

The digital-based working place has transformed into an accessible environment for employees to select their desired channels to link with the organizations. Organizations face several challenges in ensuring the new environment is seamless. Besides, this ecosystem provides an outstanding employee experience and enhances collaboration and organizational culture. Thus, the digital-based working ecosystem would occupy the highest position for the recruitment checking list and influence retention.

8. Mainframes will solidify their role in the hybrid cloud computing strategy

The company will accelerate the mainframe modernization to integrate into cloud computing completely. Experiencing reduced IT costs and skills challenges, enterprises will take an end-to-end approach to get the maximum outcomes of their platforms through modernization, integration with hyper scalers, or offloading workloads from mainframes rather than a single migration approach.
