Heaptalk, Jakarta — Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) confirmed that all its e-channel services became accessible again by Monday midnight (02/10) following the recent disruptions to the Byond banking app. The services affected included BSI Mobile, BSInet, ATM, EDC, QRIS, merchant app, and GPN & Visa credit cards. However, the Byond app is still under maintenance.
“We would like to inform you that the PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk system upgrade process has been completed. The upgrade process for the Byond application is still ongoing. We appreciate your patience and understanding,” BSI announced on its Instagram Story (02/10).
By Tuesday morning (02/11), the Byond app was reported to be accessible again. One of BSI’s customers in East Jakarta, Rofiqul Haq, confirmed that he could access the app and immediately perform financial transactions. He said, “I could only access it this morning around 5:15. I don’t know how many days the disruption lasted, but yesterday afternoon, I wanted to make a QRIS transaction, but I couldn’t.”
Wisnu Sunandar, BSI Corporate Secretary, stated on Monday (02/10) that the company is updating the system to improve the quality of customer transaction services. “During the process, customer transaction services via e-channel experienced obstacles, and transactions could be carried out at branches,” Wisnu said, as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia.
Previously, BSI had announced a five-hour maintenance period on Sunday (02/09) from 01:00 Western Indonesian Time to 05:00 Western Indonesian Time, during which transaction services were unavailable. The management apologized for any inconvenience caused while ensuring the safety of customer data and funds.
