Supermom has reached a network of 20 million parents from over 1,000 social communities across Southeast Asian countries.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Singapore’s parenting network platform, Supermom, has closed its oversubscribed fundraising of around US$6.01 million, or approximately Rp93.09 billion (US$1 equals Rp15,490) of Series A round (01/11). This investment round was led by Qualgro and supported by AC Ventures.
Through the completion of this Series A round, the startup will allocate the capital to grow its data and product and perform regional expansion. Concurrently, the company seeks prospective talents to contribute to the consumer data center establishment in Southeast Asia while continuing to deliver outstanding value to parents.
Receiving this fresh injection, the Founder and Chairman of Supermom, Luke Lim, stated, “We are excited to have a partner with strong AI and data expertise like Qualgro on board as we enter the next phase of business enhancement. This newest capital will allow us to serve more parents in Southeast Asia and connect them with their dreamed brands by building new AI and data-driven tools as well as hiring tech and engineering talent,”
As the founders of the Supermom platform, Joan Ong, Luke Lim, Lynn Yeoh, and Rebecca Koh realized that parents frequently seek guidance and advice from other parents who have gone through equivalent experiences. For this reason, they carry out a Supermom mission to discover valuable crowdsourced parenting tips, best practices, and reliable product reviews for their children.
Leading the funding round, the General Partner at Qualgro, Weisheng Neo, also realized the current gap in brands’ access to reliable, secure data on parents, a large and growing customer segment. Through the injection, brands will find the Supermom platform a treasure trove of insights and first-party data activation. Thus, Neo considered this platform a one-of-a-kind app that provides immense value to households in Southeast Asia because of its data-centricity.
Business progress of the Supermom platform
Supermom is built to enable parents to discover valuable crowdsourced parenting tips, best practices, and reliable product reviews for their children. This startup also actively collects opinions and knowledge from its parents and spreads fruitful information across its network. Parents join communities befitting their parenting needs and interest through Supermom’s website and application.
The company partners with other private social parent communities across several platforms, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram. This parenting network platform has reached a network of 20 million parents from over 1,000 social communities across Southeast Asian countries. In terms of businesses, Supermom is the trusted data and consumer insights platform for over 200 consumer brands across multiple industries, including Mother and Child, Education, FMGC, Fashion, and Beauty.
With this parenting network application, brands can engage parents with their permission and obtain more accurate and reliable first-party data and insight for marketing, lead generation, and user research.
Supporting this Series A round, the Founder and managing partner of AC Ventures, Adrian Li, stated, “With a growing population of 250 million parents, Southeast Asia is starting to be noticed by global and national brands. Supermom’s growth and customer retention give us confidence toward the platform to serve a long-term trend in the region,” The Managing Partner of AC Ventures, Adrian Li, said in his statement.
