Heaptalk, Jakarta — Starlink announced its partnership with Primacom to expand and equalize internet connectivity across Indonesia.
“Indonesia’s geographic condition as an archipelago presents challenges for providing internet access via fiber optic cables. For this reason, satellite technology can be a solution,” explained Primacom.
Starlink’s satellite internet service is considered an ideal alternative to support the equal distribution of internet connectivity. Its compact antenna is portable and easily installed in various regions, including extreme and remote areas such as mining sites, plantations, the open sea, and more.
Primacom’s President Director, Kiki Harjadi, stated that Starlink uses the latest satellite technology based on low earth orbit (LEO), which complements the satellite communication services already provided by Primacom.
“Starlink’s cutting-edge satellite communication technology is an innovation in the telecommunications industry. This partnership between Primacom and Starlink is a strategic step to help people across Indonesia access high-quality internet, including businesses, to operate more optimally in any region,” Kiki said in an official statement.
Kiki added that Starlink’s service, with its ability to reach all corners of the country, can support the government’s initiative to promote connectivity equity and accelerate digital transformation.
“People living in rural or remote areas also deserve reliable internet access to support various business activities, allowing them to connect with new opportunities without being constrained by geographic conditions,” he added.
Primacom’s Marketing Director, Domy Santoso, highlighted that with decades of experience in the VSAT satellite communication technology field, Primacom is enthusiastic and optimistic about working with Starlink to expand domestic connectivity.
“Primacom has certified and experienced engineers in satellite communication, ensuring maximum support to create better customer experiences and satisfaction,” Domy added.
