Heaptalk, Jakarta — Southeast Sulawesi’s Provincial Government (Sultra) reportedly managed to decrease its inflation and poverty rate in June 2024.
As cited in Indonesian Statistics’s data on Monday (07/01), the inflation rate in the area drops from 2.57% to 2.35% yoy. This rate is under the national inflation rate which attains 2.51%. For this achievement, the province is placing the 16th position out of 38 provinces across Indonesia.
Sultra’s Acting Governor Andap Budhi Revianto revealed that the primary commodities that drive the spike inflation rate are rice grain (0.59%), cigarette machines (0.48%), and gold (0.19%).
He added, “Meanwhile, commodities which decrease the inflation rate are milkfish (0.12%), air transportation (0.09%), and mackerel (0.08%),” said Andap.
The inflation rate in Sutra’s province and also the Regencies and Cities in the province, including Konawe Regency, Kolaka Regency, Kendari City, Baubau City are under control, namely between the range of 1.5% to 3.5%. The lowest inflation rate in the province is achieved by Knawe (1.51%) while the highest inflation is on Baubau.
Andap also reported the decline of the poverty rate in the province from 321,530 people (11.430 to 319.719 people (11.21).
“Thank God, based on Indonesian Statistics data, our inflation rate and poverty rate drop. This achievement is the result of our work to make Sultra welfare advanced and modern,” voiced Andap.
