Heaptalk, Jakarta — Sinar Mas Land, through Living Lab Ventures (LLV), is collaborating with Plasticpay to provide plastic waste storage facilities from the community called Reverse Vending Machine (RVM).

Individuals can earn valuable points by participating in the RVM program and collecting plastic bottle waste. These points can be converted into electronic money, such as GoPay, Ovo, Dana, LinkAja, InaCash, and reward points in the OneSmile application. This initiative by Plasticpay not only encourages recycling but also rewards the community for its environmental efforts.

The Breeze is the first location for Plasticpay machines in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Banten Regency, which started operating on Thursday (04/18). Providing plastic waste recycling facilities is one of the environmental care programs promoted by Sinar Mas Land in fulfilling the 17-point sustainable development goals (SDGs).

According to the Managing Director of the President’s Office of Sinar Mas Land Dony Martadisata, the placement of RVM at The Breeze, BSD City, complements Sinar Mas Land’s various efforts to support sustainable development through several green initiatives. He said, “Hopefully, this movement with Plasticpay will also encourage the wider community to contribute and enjoy incentives in managing plastic waste.”

Optimizing circular economic activities

Partner of Living Lab Ventures Bayu Seto invites the public to optimize circular economic activities through digital technology from Plasticpay. “In this collaboration, LLV facilitates Plasticpay’s expansion of its service area to BSD City, making it easily accessible to residents by placing it in The Breeze area. In the future, we will also bring this success to other commercial areas developed by the company,” Bayu explained.

Meanwhile, Plasticpay CEO Suhendra Setiadi said, “I express my highest appreciation for the strategic collaboration between Sinar Mas Land, Living Lab Ventures, and Plasticpay in accelerating the decarbonization of Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions 2060. I believe this collaboration will provide inclusive social, economic, and environmental impacts, supporting the circular economy program in Indonesia.”

Plasticpay is a social movement based on a digital platform encouraging people to be wiser about waste management. More than 800 Reverse Vending Machine units and Dropboxes are spread across several areas, including Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Banyuwangi, and Bali.
