Heaptalk,Jakarta — Jakarta Illustration and Creative Arts Fair (JICAF) collaborated with Senayan City to hold Iconic Creator Award 2024 as the annual agenda of Glorify Indonesia. This innitiative is presented to support and appreciate the development of the creative and art industry in Indonesia as well as to commemorate the artwork of Pinot, a global illustrator and artist from Indonesia.
“Senayan City strives to support the advancement and growth of the art industry in Indonesia. Collaborating with JICAF, we focus on innovation and creativity. Therefore, Senayan City presents Iconic Creator Award 2024 to Pinot for its capability in combining traditional animation and stop motion to create adorable work,” stated the Leasing and Marketing Communication Director of Senayan City, Halina, during the Press Conference of Glorify Indonesia 2024, at Jakarta (08/21).
Halina proudly highlighted that Pinot, an Indonesian artist, has not only gained recognition in Indonesia but also on the international stage by winning prestigious awards such as the Shorty Awards (2014), Tribeca Film Festival (2014), and Fast Film Fest (2013). She conveyed this global recognition of Pinot’s work is a testament to the talent and creativity present in the Indonesian art industry, and it is a reason for all society to take pride in our local talents.
Co-Founder JICAF Novrizal Pratama said Iconic Creator Award 2024 is one of the series before its peak event, JICAF 2024 which will be organized on 19 September to 6 October 2024. Partnering with Senayan City, JICAF intends to appreciate global illustration icon, namely Pinot who are Indonesian. This occasion also is expected to open society’s awareness towards the capability of local talents who have global competitiveness.
Moreover, Iconic Creator Award 2024 also will provide a platform for local artists to showcase their works to public and obtain popularity.
“I am touched because my artwork can be accepted and enjoyed by people of all ages and levels. I hope Indonesian artists can be confident in building their reputation abroad. This is the time for the world to notice our potential and talent. Free your mind from limitation and fear and be yourselves in creating artwork,” stated Pinot, who was represented by his wife, Dita Ichwandardi.
For information, Wahyu Ichwandardi, also called Pinot, is an Indonesian animator with over 30 years of experience in the animation industry. He has also contributed to promoting global movies such as Stranger Things and Mr. Robot and was the Senior Content Creator of Vayner Media.
Pinot’s career started to rise when he joined Grape Story digital agency in New York in 2014. This portfolio further led him to connect with Walt Disney Pictures.
