Heaptalk, Jakarta — One of the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) working on the Belida Block, PT Sele Raya Belida, managed to discover new oil and gas reserves through the drilling of the Sungai Anggur Selatan-1 (SAS-1) well in Melilian Gelumbang Village, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. Drilling results show the oil content of 1,983 BOPD and gas 1.3 MMSCFD with a tubing pressure of 150 psi.

Sele Raya Belida has been drilling the exploration well for Sungai Anggur Selatan-1 since May 2022. The drilling location is in the border area of Melilian Village, Gelumbang District and Tapus Village, Lembak District.

Head of Representative of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) of South Sumatra Anggono Mahendrawan said that the additional drilling production is still possible to reach 2000 BOPD of oil since the tubing pressure can be increased to 600 psi.

“We have checked and Sele Raya has carried out a flow rate for an hour in the first test zone of the SAS-1 well and the condition is good,” delivered Anggono.

Currently, according to Anggono, the Sele Raya KKKS with the support of the SKK Migas Operations Division of the South Sumatra Representative is conducting the Modified Isochronal Test (MIT) to determine the flow rate and development of the SAS-1 well. Further, until the end of November, SKK Migas and Sele Raya Belida will perforate the cement layer and are expected to find even better reserves.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Well Drilling and Maintenance Operations Division Surya Widyantoro said the discovery of oil and gas through the SAS-1 well in Gelumbang, Muara Enim Regency brings good news for the upstream industry to explore massively, aggressively, and efficiently.

“The discovery by the Sele Raya Belida is proof that this industry is concerned about increasing national oil and gas production by conducting exploration,” said Surya, Saturday (11/5).

He added that the finding can inspire the industry workers and other KKKS to continue exploring and exploiting oil and gas to achieve the target of 1 million barrels of oil and 12 billion cubic feet of gas in 2030.
