Heaptalk, Jakarta – DHF Entertainment has officially unveiled the poster and trailer of its upcoming comedy-drama film Angel Pol (means: extremely difficult) at Sedayu City, Jakarta (05/03). This marks the production house’s third entry into the comedy-drama genre. Produced by Johansyah Jumberan and Victor G. Pramusinton, the film is expected to bring a breakthrough to Indonesian cinema by featuring Michelle Ziudith in the lead role—who not only acts but also sings Javanese koplo dangdut music.
At the launch event, Ziudith shared her thoughts on the newly released poster, which features a vibrant yellow truck set against the lively backdrop of a night bazaar—an image she says perfectly encapsulates the essence of the film.
“This poster tells about 80% of what Angel Pol is about. It shows the traveling dangdut orchestra using a truck. The night market setting is accurate—we actually filmed in one,” said the actress.

In the film, Ziudith—who hails from Medan—performs four koplo dangdut songs that serve as the official soundtrack: Pepes Rempelo, Angel Pol, Tembang Ani-Ani, and LDR (Layang Dungo Restu, which translates to “seeking blessings through prayers”). Singing in Javanese proved to be a major challenge for Ziudith, who admitted that the musical element pushed her out of her comfort zone.
“Singing scene required more preparation than the actual filming. With acting, I read the script, studied the character, then shot the scenes. But for singing, I kept questioning myself—‘Does my voice fit? Is it good enough?’ I didn’t want to belittle this. I wanted to make sure my voice sounded pleasant, so I went through a long training process,” she explained.
Angel Pol tells the poignant story of two individuals striving to achieve their dreams amid harsh social injustices. Jati (played by Bhisma Mulia), a brilliant arts student known for his sharp social critiques through urban murals, loses his scholarship due to bureaucratic unfairness. Meanwhile, Lastri (Ziudith), a village girl chasing a better life in the city, finds herself deceived and left with nothing.
Fate brings them together in their lowest moments. Together, they create a traveling dangdut performance—a shared dream filled with music, laughter, and an unexpected romance. But success comes with its own set of complications. As Lastri’s singing career takes off and Jati earns recognition as a painter, their bond begins to fray. Misunderstandings, doubts, and unforgiving circumstances slowly drive them apart—until silence replaces love.
Directed by Hanny R. Saputra, Angel Pol blends satirical humor with social commentary, all set to the energetic rhythms of Javanese koplo music. The film’s message is clear, no matter how hard life gets, “just dance it off”. In addition to Michelle Ziudith, the film also stars Jolene Marie, Fajar Nugra, Dayu Wijanto, Ananda George, Yono Bakrie, Siti Fauziah, Toni Belok Kiri, and Bogang Bakar.
“This is the first comedy I’ve directed. Luckily, my team is full of funny people. Their energy gave me a fresh perspective and got me excited to work on this film,” said director Hanny.
