Heaptalk, Jakarta — Pertamina‘s subsidiary in the aviation transportation sector, Pelita Air, has achieved remarkable growth in serving the Eid return flow in 2024. The airline served a staggering 43,614 passengers, marking a fourfold increase compared to last year’s Eid return flow.

Overall, the company served 105,022 passengers during the Eid Exodus 2024 transport period from April 3 to 18, a triple the number from the Eid 2023 period. Meanwhile, the peak of the airline’s Eid 2024 return flow occurred on April 15, five days after Eid, with 8,203 passengers, an increase of 168% compared to last year.

The three routes or destinations with the highest passenger traffic during the Eid Exodus 2024 are Jakarta-Surabaya-Jakarta, Jakarta-Padang-Jakarta, and Jakarta-Pekanbaru-Jakarta. The passenger seat occupancy rate (seat load factor/SLF) reached 76.70%, an increase of 5.6 points compared to the SLF during last year’s Eid.

Reaching high average flight punctuality rate

Furthermore, this airline achieves an average flight punctuality rate of up to 95%. “In the return of Eid 2024, Pertamina, through its subsidiary in the aviation transportation sector, namely Pelita Air, achieved on-time performance of up to 95%,” explained PT Pertamina Vice President Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso in a written statement.

Pelita Air Corporate Secretary Agdya Yogandari emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to maintaining smooth flight operations and services during the Eid 2024 transportation period, primarily during this return flow period. She explained, “Pelita Air always strives to maintain smooth flight operations and services during the Eid 2024 transportation period, especially during this reverse flow period, through intensive coordination with partners and other aviation industry stakeholders, especially airport service managers.”

Agdya added that Pelita Air coordinates intensively with airport management to maintain the smooth running of flight services, particularly regarding baggage handling at the airport. Therefore, baggage handling can run smoothly with no accumulation of baggage claim queues during the peak period of this return flow.
