Heaptalk, Jakarta — Malaysia’s telco provider Maxis established cooperation with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate innovation in generative AI and 5G use cases for domestic enterprise customers.
Announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona (02/27), this strategic cooperation proposes to redefine the landscape of digital innovation as well as empower businesses with AI technologies and connectivity powered by AWS.

In more detail, Maxis and AWS will concentrate on leveraging advanced 5G and generative AI technologies into business use cases that target the retail, manufacturing, logistics, and financial services domains in Malaysia. By leveraging AWS, Maxis will be able to offer integrated products and services designed to adapt to evolving business needs.
Within Maxis, this cooperation will focus on improving customer service and support offerings for the company’s customers to make faster, more engaging, and effective business decisions. Maxis can now utilize AWS’s advanced machine-learning capabilities to build, train, and deploy AI models at scale. The integration of generative AI and large language models trained to support Malay is expected to help accelerate the digital transformation journey for more businesses in Malaysia.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for Maxis as the first and only telco in Malaysia to be an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner and AWS Direct Connect Partner. With its expertise in providing end-to-end digital services for enterprises, including cloud services, Maxis is optimistic that the company can drive innovation in the generative AI sector with the full support of AWS.
