Heaptalk, Jakarta — Malaysia-based reseller management startup Ejen2u has bagged a Pra-Series A funding round for an undisclosed amount from Gobi Partners and Artem Ventures. This investment was made possible through the Khazanah-backed Gobi Dana Impak Ventures (GDIV) fund.
With this fresh capital injection, Ejen2u will allocate the funds to strengthen its business core, expecting to be a leader as an agent in the Malaysian market and empower merchants to grow their businesses. On the other hand, the company will also expand the product to serve numerous direct-to-consumer (D2C) sectors, including dropshipping, online storefronts, and fulfillment services.
Founded by Shaikh Ezaiddin, Imran Hadi, and Taufiq Zakir, Ejen2u intends to local MSMEs, such as brand owners, stockists, agents, and drop shippers, to elevate their business processes. The company provides comprehensive services, spanning a cloud-based reseller management platform, a reseller education platform, a reseller-based venture builder, and several innovative fintech services.
Exists as the center for agent and reseller management platform, the Ejen2u platform provides three primary services, including:
- EjenGo is a cutting-edge Software as a Service solution to empower SMEs and brand owners. Possessing over 500 clients, this SaaS product has achieved a remarkable GMV of US$125 million.
- EjenVenture caters to large enterprises and brands to help them establish their reseller distribution channel.
- Women Empowerment Entrepreneurship Programme (WeMap), aiming to upskill women entrepreneurs, with over 100 topics. Launched in 2022, this program has served 249 clients and educated over 15,000 participants on over 100 subjects, including marketing strategy, video and photo editing, sales, and business management. This service has been impactful, with case studies of agents improving their income by around 200% – 300% in the post-program.
Even though the EjenGo platform serves as an initial product for its client, Ejen2u’s Founder and Chief Executive Offcier, Sheikh Ezaiddin, affirmed that the differentiator lies in the company’s holistic approach beyond technology. He explained the method includes comprehensive soft skills workshops and the impactful WeMap program for women, representing 85% of the users.
“We firmly believe that the core strength of any brand resides in its human capital. By relieving our clients of burdensome bookkeeping tasks, we empower the agents and resellers to represent the brand more effectively, leading to enhanced sales and brand growth,” Ezaidding added.
In its business progress, Ejen2u has served over 340,000 resellers across Malaysia, including 600 women leaders since its inception in 2019. Based on the internal data, nearly 85% of the platform’s users are women looking to generate additional income while staying home to care for their children.
“Ejen2u’s strategic investors are bullish on the startup capability going forward to impact domestic MSMEs positively,” affirmed the Management team of Gobi Partners.
