Maju Maritim Indonesia ties with DesktopIP to boost archipelago’s digitalization in maritime industry

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s shipyard company, PT Maju Maritim Indonesia (MMI), announced a strategic collaboration with Indonesia-based cloud services company desktopIP to advance digital transformation in maritime sector. Combining MMI’s expertise in maritime industry with DesktopIP’s advanced technology solution, the strategic partnership is expected to assist the archipelago’s vision to become the global maritime hub.

In this cooperation, MMI noticed that desktopIP has a great capacity to support digitalization in the maritime industry through its comprehensive digital solution and excellent human capital. Perceiving this potency, MMI initiated tailoring the company’s experience with DesktopIP’s capacity, allowing digitalization in the maritime sector to thrive through a comprehensive strategy in education and technological innovation.

This collaboration also aligns with MMI’s vision to support the construction of Tol Laut program initiated by the seventh President of Indonesia, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo. The program assists the country in enhancing inter-island connectivity, reducing regional price disparities, and improving community accessibility nationwide. Supporting this program, MMI and desktopIP synergize to develop a digital ecosystem in the industry to achieve digital sovereignty.

The Chief Operating Officer of desktopIP, Hermi Putra, underscored that desktopIP’s cutting-edge solution would support the shipyard industry’s operational systems, enabling Maju Maritim Indonesia to adopt advanced digitalization systems and improve operational management efficiency.

This strategic collaboration will be marked by a series of seminars held at the Presidential Staff Office to discuss the significance of digitalization in the maritime industry. The official launch is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd, 2024, and will be highlighted by the keel laying of two ships in Bojonegara, Banten.
