Heaptalk, Jakarta — Living Lab Ventures (LLV) partners with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to foster the healthcare industry through participation in JETRO’s Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch event. This involvement will also facilitate partnerships between Japanese startups and Indonesian-based enterprises.
“Through our collaboration with JETRO, we are building a robust pipeline for international innovation, enabling businesses to expand seamlessly into Indonesia. The Fast Track program was instrumental in identifying key partners such as MEDRiNG, aligned with our goal of transforming Indonesia’s healthcare landscape. Beyond investment, we provide critical market insights, regulatory guidance, and strategic networks to ensure sustainable and market penetration,” Partner at Living Lab Ventures, Bayu Seto, said.
One of the most significant achievements of this program was LLV’s collaboration with MEDRiNG Corporation, a Japanese medical technology firm specializing in digital healthcare solutions. Under this partnership, LLV and MEDRiNG have signed an agreement to support the establishment of Indonesia’s first medical facility featuring Japanese doctors. Located within the Banten International Education, Technology, and Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), this facility is expected to enhance healthcare standards, introduce global best practices, and improve access to high-quality medical services for Indonesian patients.
As a part of this initiative, MEDRiNG will facilitate the establishment of a new medical clinic within the Banten SEZ, providing foreign doctors with the opportunity to practice under applicable regulations. The Banten SEZ offers regulatory incentives and a pro-innovation environment and becomes a hub for global healthcare investment, positioning Indonesia as a premier destination for world-class medical services.
Additionally, the initiative will support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to expedite clinic development and operations, particularly in the digital healthcare space. LLV and MEDRiNG plan to conduct extensive market research to identify the most critical medical specializations, with the first clinic expected to launch by the end of 2025.
“JETRO’s Fast Track Pitch allows us to explore Indonesia’s healthcare market and align our technology-driven medical solutions with the country’s evolving needs. With LLV’s support, we are confident in our ability to introduce Japanese-style medical practices to BSD City and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s healthcare ecosystem,” Founder and CEO of MEDRiNG Corporation, Kazuma Abe, said.
LLV continues to solidify its role as a key gateway for international businesses looking to enter the Indonesian market, further enhancing BSD City’s reputation as a dynamic and innovation-driven economic hub. Spanning 6,000 hectares and home to approximately 500,000 residents, BSD City is one of Indonesia’s most ambitious smart city projects, integrating advanced infrastructure across multiple sectors, including education, technology, and healthcare.
