Heaptalk, Jakarta — DANA, Indonesia’s e-wallet platform, recorded its user growth of up to 23%, reaching 170 million people last year. This positive growth demonstrates the high public adoption of payment and digital financial services.

Besides generating significant user enhancements, this startup also noted the QRIS transaction improvement, reaching 272% YoY in 2023. Meanwhile, the DANA’s Send Money feature also elevated by up to 147% in 2023.

DANA Indonesia’s Vice President of Product, Adri Awwal, explained, “This milestone indicates our users’ enthusiasm and illustrates the fulfillment of their financial lifestyles from the DANA’s features provided. As a technology company prioritizing Quality of Service (QoS), we will continue to be a relevant digital wallet for users in their financial aspects.”

In 2023, this unicorn startup also became the first electronic wallet platform to implement the QR Cross Border in three Southeast Asian countries: Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

The implementation of QR Cross Border is a part of the company’s contribution to boosting financial inclusion following the Indonesian Payment System Blueprint (BPSI) 2025 guidance of Bank Indonesia, which is hoped to catalyze digital economic progress in ASEAN. This initiative is expected to facilitate people to conduct cross-border digital transactions and access other digital financial services.

In driving financial inclusion and empowerment for overall realms, DANA has also performed several programs, including SisBerdaya, involving 2,400 Indonesian women entrepreneurs in developing their businesses. Besides, this fintech startup also broadened its financial services, including investment services (DANA eMas and DANA Goals) and insurance (DANA Siaga), which experienced a ninefold increase last year. From now on, DANA will focus on developing its excellent user experience to simplify people’s transactions and prioritize improving the security system in its e-wallet application.

“Strengthening security will always be our focus as a financial technology service provider. We will continue to reinforce strategic cooperation between stakeholders in realizing Indonesia’s cashless society,” concluded Adri.
