Heaptalk, Jakarta — A property and construction startup, Kabina, announced the completion of its Seed funding led by East Ventures and supported by several notable angel investors, including Sandra Dewi, a brand ambassador of Kabina.

Kabina startup plans to manage its latest capital mainly for product development and investing in equipment solutions that contribute toward more responsible and sustainable operations in the industry. Through this capital, the company will also expand its team, which currently consists of 16 people based mainly in Indonesia, where 65% are women.

Delivering his gratitude for this investment, Kabina’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Fred Moeis, stated, “We are glad to obtain the investment from East Ventures as the pioneer and prominent venture capital firm in Indonesia. We believe this capital and the overall support from this VC company will accelerate our mission of providing more innovations and sustainable construction solutions to the market. We expect to work alongside the powerful ecosystem of East Ventures and revolutionize the construction and property sector in Indonesia,”

Having extensive experience in the construction and property sector during his career as a designer, Fred realized numerous pressures experienced by the local actors around this industry. They frequently encounter the obstacles of cost inefficiency and time estimation. Moreover, a lack of people’s awareness or focus on minimizing the negative environmental impact of the ongoing usage of energy-intensive equipment also becomes a challenge for the local players in this sector.

The pandemic has generated a shift in needs related to people’s lives, one of which is the construction and property sectors. To continue adapting to the existing transformations, Kabina startup ensures a balanced combination of the essential elements and customer’s necessities in granting its solutions. Regarding residential clusters, Kabina’s team creates a multi-purpose structure, enabling the customers to adjust and reconstruct the form based on the diverse consumer requirements more efficiently.

As another contribution to society, Kabina will also launch other offerings related to the lifestyle and the customer needs, including Kabina House, Kabina Space, Kabina Suite, Kabina Studio, Kabina Lounge, and Kabina Play.

Kabina Market is an outdoor retail platform with 50% of the outdoor area as one of the highlighted services. The team will locate Kabina Market in prime locations to link the customers with the retail brands and still consider the new customers’ preference for more open space experiences. The startup will also integrate its SaaS solutions, namely Kabine Life, to digitize and simplify property and real-estate management. This application lets users navigate visitor management, facility booking, and monthly service payments.

“The addition of Kabina into the East Ventures’ ecosystem will further amplify our protect line-up in democratizing Indonesia’s construction and property industry with efficient and sustainable materials and processes. We believe the sustainable innovation and approaches offered by Kabina will further bring positive impacts toward the growth of society,” The Partner of East Ventures, Avina Sugiarto, said.

Established in 2020, Kabina appears as the solution to the existing issues. The Kabina team believes in removing these obstacles through technology-based integration solutions in construction and property development.

This prop-tech platform simplifies the process of construction by utilizing modularity, pre-fabrication, and using wood sourced from sustainably managed and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified as the primary material. These simplification techniques and approaches are expected to be an innovative solution that opens up the opportunity to save high costs and minimize waste, water, and energy consumption.
