Indosat recorded USD79.38 million profit in Q1 2024

Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Tbk (IOH) announced has recorded a strong profit growth in Q1 2024 by reaching a US$79.38 million in profit, jump by 29.4% yoy. (US$1 equals Rp16,255)

President Director and CEO of IOH Vikram Sinha conveyed that this achievement is contributed by the positive growth of IOH’s earning which attain US$851.1 million, increasing 15.8% yoy. The positive result is also demonstrated by the company’s EBITDA in Q1 2024 which reaches US$400 million, escalating 22.1% yoy.  

This financial performance led to an increase in Indosat’s EBITDA Margin to 47.0% and resulted in profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent entity, amounting to US$79.65 million, a rise of 39.4% yoy.

“By the positive growth in all company’s business lines and a commitment to continue to optimize cost, Indosat recorded a solid achievement in financial performance and operational performance,” stated Vikram during the press conference on Tuesday (05/01). 

By the end of Q1 2024, Indosat recorded an increase in customers number by 2.3% yoy, reaching 100.8 million customers. This growth contributed to a jump in data traffic of 14.3%  to 3,858 Petabytes (PB). This increase occurred in line with strategic investments in improving its network infrastructure. 

Perceiving its infrastructure, the number of Indosat 4G BTS soar by 20.8% yoy to 184,000. The measure is performed to ensure seamless connectivity and better customer experience for a rapidly growing user base. According to Vikram, this measure contributed to a 13.9% YoY jump in ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) for mobile customers, which reached Rp 37,500.

In Jabotabek (Jakarta – Bogor – Tangerang – Bekasi), data traffic in Q1 2024 recorded a jump of 9.6% YoY to 1,079 Petabytes (PB). The strong data traffic growth is the result of the development 4G BTS which increase by 10% yoy to 44 thousand. The infrastructure development is IOH‘s effort to provide a marvelous experience for customers in Jabotabek.

“We also improve our operational and efficiency significantly which enable us to grow our income and continue to increase profitability,” voiced Vikram.
