Heaptalk, Jakarta — A direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup, Pawprints Inspired announced its new funding achievement at US$1.7 million or approximately Rp27 million, led by Creative Gorilla Capital (CGC) in collaboration with Future Creative Network (FCN). Several strategic investors, including the family office of Japfa Comfeed Altrui, the family office of Tigaraksa Satria Tujuh Bersaudara Investindo, and multiple individual investors, also backed this round.
Leading this investment, the Managing Partner of Creative Gorilla Capital, Benz Budiman, delivered that this funding is the strategic effort of the venture capital firm to bring Indonesia’s products into the global market through product innovation that focuses on animal welfare and the era of pet humanization. Despite injecting fresh funds into this company, CGC cooperates strategically with Pawprints to reinforce its marketing and branding strategy.
“We are set up to play a role in the exponential business development of Pawprints company to become a leader in the pet food market in Indonesia and worldwide,” Benz affirmed.
According to the Growth Market Reports, the sustainable growth of the pet food market in Indonesia will be attained at US$2.09 billion in 2022. The result is predicted to exceed US$4.73 billion by 2031, with a CAGR enhancement of 9.5% in the eight-year projection period. The company observed this output indicated a tremendous opportunity for the team to provide quality pet food.
The startup focuses on creating nutritious and biologically appropriate pet food for better animal welfare. Pawprints products are formulated according to the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards in providing quality nutrition.
Established in the middle of 2023, this pet food startup has noted fantastic business outgrowth in sales up to 4.6 times monthly. Pawprints has broadened its business networks in 11 cities in Indonesia, with more than 500 offline stores, amplifying its presence in the archipelago. Pawprints Inspired also acquired Japan’s pet food company to augment its portfolio.
As a part of its business effort, this startup will also launch Insect-Based Dog Food in February 2024. Previously, this startup has contained a Black Soldier Fly product. This product relies on the power of superfood insect protein and contains high-quality, hypoallergenic protein, amino acids, and minerals essential for pets’ health, particularly cats and dogs.
