Indonesia’s OJK releases IAKD Roadmap for 2024-2028

Indonesia's OJK stated that this IAKD Roadmap will be implemented in three interconnected phases until 2028.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has officially launched the Roadmap for the Development and Strengthening of Technology Innovation in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Cryptocurrency for 2024-2028 (IAKD Roadmap).

The IAKD Roadmap 2024-2028 is designed to support the growth of a strong, balanced, inclusive, and sustainable IAKD sector. Its primary focus covers four strategic pillars: Regulation and Development, Supervision and Law Enforcement, Licensing and Information, and Innovation.

OJK’s Chief Executive of IAKD Supervision, Hasan Fawzi, stated that this Roadmap will be implemented in three interconnected phases until 2028. “We have formulated nine strategic programs to achieve this goal,” he said.

These programs cover important aspects, such as developing the Regulatory Sandbox, increasing digital financial literacy, and organizational transformation. OJK also emphasized the importance of synergy with various parties, including the government, ministries, institutions, industry players, and the community. This collaboration is the key to successfully implementing the IAKD Roadmap.

The Roadmap for the Development and Strengthening of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD) prepared by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has several main points as follows:

  1. Regulation and Development: Establishing regulations that support innovation while ensuring effective risk mitigation.
  2. Supervision and Law Enforcement: Strengthening supervision and law enforcement to maintain market stability and integrity.
  3. Licensing and Information: Strengthen licensing processes and increase information transparency in the IAKD sector.
  4. Innovation: Encouraging sustainable technological innovation in the financial sector.
