Heaptalk, Jakarta — Ministry of Manpower introduced Bolehpayz, a digital payment application developed by Malaysia’s fintech company Workerz Direct, for Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia (04/27).
The launch of Bolehpayz aims to protect the rights of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia from salary payment delays or excessive salary cuts. According to the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, permission from Bank Negara Malaysia has been granted for the app. In this way, Bolehpayz can legally operate and be utilized by Indonesian people in Malaysia, mainly migrant workers.
“Through this application, it is hoped that it can become another solution for financial transactions apart from traditional banking transactions through existing banks,” said Ida at the launch of Bolehpayz in Malaysia on a written statement (04/27).
This app also has a social security BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and healthcare security BPJS Kesehatan payment feature to facilitate migrant workers’ payments without going to the bank or ATM. Migrant workers can create an account and access the platform in Indonesia before leaving for work. After that, activation can be done after arriving in Malaysia.
Ida added, “This application can definitely be used to save salary payments for foreign workers or banking transactions in Malaysia, including migrant workers.”
Established in 2019, Workerz Direct focuses its services on the FinTech industry. The company provides a revolutionary mobile app-based technology for unskilled workers to conduct cross-border transfers to their home countries, among other features.
