HUB.ID Summit is expected to introduce Indonesia’s digital startup ecosystem to the world, attracting potential investors to put their capital to strengthen the national startup ecosystem.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) invites European investors to attend the 2023 HUB.ID Summit on the 15th to September 16, 2023, in Bali during Europian Venture Capital Engagement at Hannover Messe 2023 event, Germany.
HUB.ID Summit is a Program of the Directorate General of Informatics Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to introduce Indonesia’s digital startup ecosystem. Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Usman Kansong stated that through the HUB.ID Summit 2023, the Government potentially encourages startup growth, increases their business scale, as well as bridges national digital startup players to meet investors.
“We hope that potential investors will also be present in Bali to know in depth and maybe visit the location of our startup directly,” said Usman.
Usman hopes that potential investors who attend the Summit will be interested in investing in Indonesia’s startups. “So, this event can create higher opportunities for startups in the country to attract global investors,” uttered Usman.
He also said that this event also introduces the HUB.ID Summit to foreign venture capitals in order to increase the investment profile of Indonesian digital startups.
In VC Engagement, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics involves four national startups namely Imajin, Prieds, Amoda, and Kecilin. Kecilin’s Chief Financial Officer Bisma Mandasamsu stated that there were many programs of government and SOEs that support the development of startups in Indonesia. “The government and SOEs have incubator and accelerator programs. We have joined the incubator program since our company was founded,” he said. Bisma appreciates government policies that encourage the use of domestic products so as to provide added value to startup products from Indonesia.
