Heaptalk, Jakarta – Marking Children’s day, IndiHome, a fixed broadband provider that has the largest number of IPTV customers in Indonesia, launched IndiKids, a special channel for kids (23/07). The channel that provides education and entertainment TV shows was officially inaugurated by the President Director of Telkom Group Abdi Negara Nurdin, assisted by the Director of Telkom Consumer Service Venusiana.

The product launch was also witnessed by the Telkom Executive General Manager TV and Video Division A.A. Gede Mayun and the founder of Kampung Dongeng (Fairy Tale Village) Awam Prakoso. The event also was attended by Kuku Rock You’s producer Bayu Skak, the voice actor of Jagur in Kuku Rock You series Candil, the founder and producer Di Atas Rata Rata Erwin Gutawa, and voice actor of Heni in Kuku Rock You series Kintani Putrimedya.

In his opening speech, the Independent Commissioner of Telkom Group Abdi explained, “A show can be guidance for children. It is undeniable that children are able to absorb information from audiovisual content faster than other mediums. In order to educate children and support their development, high-quality content that contains education is needed. This kind of content is provided and becomes the advantage of IndiHome TV. I believe that parents can make the channel as an alternative media and also a good companion for children. I expect that IndiKids can be a new innovation that can inspire many parties to maintain children’s morals and strives to broadcast a high quality and inspiring local TV show without removing Indonesia’s culture.

Venuasiana also stated that the IndiKids channel also is a proof of IndiHome’s commitment to delivering a high-quality production, especially for children, so that parents will not be worried about content consumed by their children.

“Today, many parents are worried about the show watching by their children. For this reason, IndiHome presents IndiKids, a channel which contains entertainment and education, so as it can enrich children’s knowledge and develop their creative mind,” said Venuasiana.

Presenting an exclusive channel for children, IndiHome has cooperated with DBS-Lokanima, a local content creator for animation that served various interesting educational series.  IndiKids has set the theme “The Splendor of Local Animation” where the campaign’s goal is giving exposure for local animation to be a local hero across the country. DBS-Lonaima has created several animation series, namely Kuku Rock You, Blab Blib Blub Bleb Blop, dan Roh Garuda, to be broadcasted in IndiKids.

From those three animations, the Kuku Rock You series has its uniqueness that can be seen from its character’s voice actors were mainly from well-known Indonesian artists joined due to their concern to support the local’s work. The clutch of artists that joins in the series was a rock star Dian Dipa Chandra, a comedian Indra Bekti, Tike Priatnakusumah, and Ronal Surapradja, and a new talented artist, content creator, and a beautiful singer from Payakumbuh West Sumatra, Kintani Putrimedya

IndiHome and DBS-Lokanima are hoped the effort to create local animation products that is set to be a local hero is kept going with other related works. Looking forward, this measure can drive the realization of digital sovereignty by putting local production at first.

“IndiHome presents Indikids in the National Children’s day with a hope that this channel can promote creative economy industry and become a primary channel for Indonesian children,” stated Venusiana.
