Targeting 200 runners, the Green Heroes Run 2023 event will adopt NFT technology to retain the ownership authenticity of participants.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — An online donation platform, Ayobantu, is poised to conduct a running competition with a mission to preserve the environment, Green Heroes Run, on May 20th, 2023, in Alam Sutera, Tangerang.
Collaborating with Indonesia’s crypto-based financing and investment platform, Nusa Finance, this running activity will implement a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology to retain the ownership authenticity of participants. Runners will receive the digital ticket and medals as NFT assets, expecting to ensure the security and authentication of the ticket and medals of the participants. The NFT adoption will also enable runners to store their achievements as collectible items.
As delivered by the CEO of Nusa Finance, Wildan Ramadhan, NFT is a technology to authenticate ownership of digital assets. Wildan claims that the verification process using NFT is compatible with electronic certificates or tickets as an alternative to preventing illegal sales related to public data.
“To date, blockchain technology is still reliable and difficult to hack because it has a verification system carried out by several parties. Thus, we look forward to continuing educating society about this technology through this initiative,” Wildan added.
In this sports agenda, around ten professional athletes. Regarding the participants, Ayobantu targets to involve about 200 runners to participate in the Green Heroes Run 2023 and aims to obtain US$5,052 (around Rp75 million) donations for mangrove conservation. The winner will seize a reward worth US$4,041, or nearly Rp60 million.
To participate in the agenda, the prospective runners can register on Ayobantu’s official website. After completing their email in the registration process, Ayobantu’s team will send the NFT voucher to be redeemed and save their ticket and medals in the crypto wallet platform.
“We believe this act of kindness will be maximized when carrying out an effort collectively from various sectors. By implementing NFT technology in the event, I expect this approach will attract multiple parties, spanning the sports, technology, and environmental activists,” The CEO of Ayobantu, Agnes Yuliavitriani, said during the media briefing in Jakarta.
