Since the covid-19 appeared and caused the global disruption, the acceleration of digital transformation allowed Edutech’s popularity increased rapidly. Gredu, an Indonesia edutech startup, seize this golden moment to aggressively boost their business. The Firm has provided a solution to schools that suddenly were forced to conduct digital transformation.
A Company established in 2006 was built with the idea creating a better Indonesia’s education, and from the Firm’s sight, the best place to start the action is at school. The conventional process that was run by schools has made a couple of problems appears repeatedly. Penetrating digitalization to schools is a strategic move that not solely able to solve the problems but also lead Indonesia’s education to be more progressive.
Ricky Putra, Gredu Chief Creative and Operation stated, “Essentially, we always want to deliver a contribution to education in Indonesia, especially in today’s digital era. As millennials, We believe that responsibilities to transfer knowledge – especially technology – to across generations are in our hands. We perceive that the best place to start the action is at school.”
In the journey, the covid-19 pandemic that has triggered a digital shift towards school has expedited Gredu’s development. Instead of providing courses like other startups, Gredu has launched five innovations that assist schools in conducting distance learning as well as managing schools. The programs consist of Learning Management System, School Management System, eLibrary, PPDB, and payment feature.
Learning Management System is a feature that integrated school, parents, and students to carry out and support learning process that is conducted by online today. The system contains several features that students can use to check their scores, assignment, schedules, and learning material. In addition, teachers can monitor student’s attendance, deliver quizzes, create a report card, contact parents, and oversee students’ achievement by assessing test results through the system while parents are able to see their children’s attainment.
E-Library created by the collaboration between Gredu and publishers also facilitates students to learn through their phones everywhere in anytime. Through the payment feature and PPBD system, problems concerning payment methods for tuition and student enrollment will be handled automatically.
The Company takes into account difficulties that may be found by parents and schools to adapt to the new system. For this reason, the Firm released after-sales service where parents and school’s staff as well as students, are equipped with knowledge through comprehensive training. Moreover, the Firm provides team support that will be available 24/7. In responding to bullying issues, the Entity has released “Gredu Student Web” which functions as a place for a student to report any bullying action in school.
For the innovations, the user of this platform has increased significantly. The achievement leads the Firm to be selected as the Top 50 Edtech version HolonIQ and Indonesia Best New Comers from Warta Economy. The Firm that has rolled out from Sembrani Wira, a startup incubation from BRI Ventures, further, plans to expand its service across Indonesia. Looking forward, Gredu also plans to build an intensive community for students, teachers, and parents to share their experience where the input can be utilized as constructive feedback for Gredu.
