Heaptalk, Jakarta — Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in Jakarta on Wednesday (07/24). The Z Fold 6 comes in three color variants: silver shadow, pink, and navy, while the Z Flip 6 is offered in silver shadow, yellow, blue, and mint.
“Specifically in Indonesia, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold-Flip 6 series also comes in exclusive color options available for online preorders on the Samsung website,” explained Harry Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Indonesia, in his speech.
Regarding specifications, Harry Lee explained that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is equipped with a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x main screen with QXGA+ resolution, adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, pixel density of 374 ppi, and an aspect ratio of 20.9:18. Meanwhile, the secondary or cover screen features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with HD Plus resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a pixel density of 410 ppi, and an aspect ratio of 22.1:9.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 screen includes Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Its frame uses Armor Aluminium 2 material. The smartphone is equipped with three rear cameras: a 50 MP (f/2.2) main camera, a 12 MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera, and a 10 MP (f/2.4, 3x optical zoom, PDAF, OIS) telephoto camera. For the front camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 10 MP selfie camera on the cover screen and a 4 MP selfie camera under the main screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, paired with 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is equipped with a 4,400 mAh battery supported by 25-watt fast charging via a USB-C port. This phone runs on the Android 14 operating system layered with OneUI 6.1.1. Other features include support for 5G connectivity, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dust and water resistance with an IP48 rating, and dual SIM.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 now has body dimensions of 132.6 x 153.5 x 5.6 mm when unfolded. When folded, it measures 68.1 mm in length, 153.5 mm in width, and 12.1 mm in thickness with the same weight. The overall body weight of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 239 grams. “The design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is more compact, lighter, and thinner than any previous Galaxy Z models. It feels sturdier and more comfortable to hold and fits easily in pockets,” added Lo Khing Seng, Head of the Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics Indonesia.
Lo Khing Seng also mentioned that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with Full HD Plus resolution, adaptive refresh rate of 101-120 Hz, and peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. Meanwhile, the secondary or cover screen of the Galaxy Z Flip features a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 6 Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of 306 ppi.
This phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB/512 GB storage options. For cameras, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is now equipped with a 50 MP (f/1.8, Dual Pixel AF, OIS) main camera and a 12 MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera. “The 50 MP camera resolution is four times larger than the previous series. This camera is also now equipped with AutoZoom with FlexCam,” said Lo Khing Seng.
The Samsung Z Flip 6 is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support. This allows the phone to charge from 0-50% in 30 minutes. The successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 runs on the Android 14 operating system layered with OneUI 6.1.1. Samsung now guarantees that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive Android OS upgrades for up to 7 generations and security updates for 7 years.
