Heaptalk, Jakarta – A giant tire company, Micheline Indonesia, introduces its more economical product in the form of BFGoodrich Advantage Touring. The launch of this on-road tire also marked Micheline’s track to expand its target market, not only for tier 1 (premium class), but also for tier 2 and tier 3. Introducing this tires, the company believes will achieve sales and production volume of 80% this year.

President Director of Michelin Indonesia, Steven Vette, during the launch of BFGoodrich Advantage Touring (10/23), stated, “BFGoodrich Advantage Touring is designed for high-confident customers with an active lifestyle who seek high quality but more economical tires. BFGoodrich has a long story, and we entrust Micheline Indonesia to manufacture this tire.”

This tire is claimed to have high efficiency and is perfect for several four-wheel types, spanning LCGC, hatchback, sedan, and SUVs. Head of Public Affairs and Press Relation, Micheline Indonesia, Kartika Susanti, delivered that this tire, practically, has been produced in Indonesia since 2020 but only for export purposes with the United States and Japan as the largest export destination.

But in Q4, Micheline expanded its market to Indonesia by improving its technology to suit the archipelago’s challenging road. Adjusting to Indonesian road contour, BFGoodrich Advantage Touring is available in various sizes from 14inch to 18 inches with 43 tire size dimensions (speed level H, T, and V).

Customer Engineering Support of Micheline Indonesia, Mochammad Fachrul Rozi, explained, “Although BFGoodrich for the Indonesian market and the product manufactured for export purposes together are fabricated in Indonesia’s factory, both of these products are slightly different. BFGoodrich Advantage Touring is specifically designed to have resistance to hot asphalt, thus this product is appropriate for tropical countries, while the other one is produced for four-season countries where the road is not too extreme.”

This product is priced at Rp749,000 to Rp1,720,000 or about USD48 to USD110(USD1 equals Rp15,616). With this price range, this tire features three advantages: aesthetics and better noise-reducing performance, handling braking in all conditions, and comprehensive features supported with a technology that can minimize fuel consumption.
