In 2023, Evren company will double its markets, covering Indonesia and India and building localized products and solutions.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Data breaches frequently occur in businesses worldwide, impacted by the employee’s negligence. Despite enduring a well-configured IT infrastructure, cyber threat exposure continues to haunt, particularly on every device and the company asset.

The Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evren, Gaurav Nagar, discerned people nowadays have their end devices personally, such as laptops, smartphones, and personal computers. However, they are often not aware of whether the devices are secure or not.

According to him, people assume that security only involves hackers constantly attempting to hack their web servers and steal data. But Gaurav claimed that around 90% of the cyber attacks or data leakages that befall organizations occur through endpoint devices.

“That’s why protecting the endpoint is critical. Some employees browsed a website they were not supposed to browse or plugged a USB they were not supposed to. Securing your cloud and data center is important. Still, this point is something basic level of security that you need to give and protect everybody,” added Gaurav during the 10th XCION Conference, Bali. (03/02)

From the matters that occurred, Gaurav intends to make the process simpler. He suggested businesses could amplify the basic level of security in the first place to protect their ecosystem.

“Front line workers (BPO, call center, etc.) are not the main priority of cybersecurity organizations, as the teams are small, and they focus on many things. Therefore, we come as the solution that ensures cybersecurity for these employees with very little effort or resources,” Gaurav said.

Introducing OS technology to gird end-user devices’ security

Recognizing the significance of securing data through the endpoint, Gaurav tried to solve the pain points of organizations that exist for frontline workers, including call centers, support agents, sales executives, recruitment executives, and any mobile staff, by providing Evren Operating System (OS) to improve the productivity of the customers’ workforce.

Gaurav viewed most companies as still struggling with knowing how many things, mainly related to their asset possessed. Evren has expanded several tools within Evren OS platform to resolve this pain point by granting organizations management asset features and usage data to understand usage patterns and set policies following zero trust principles.

“And then, we provide advances of features such as Domain Name System (DNS), security, website filtering, threat hunting, making snapshots, backups, all of these things are there. But again, basics first and then the other advanced features later,” voiced Gaurav.

On the other hand, as a security baseline, Evren OS platform also proffers full disk encryption to overcome device operation misuse, particularly when users’ devices have been lost or stolen. With Evren Operating System, businesses also don’t need to upgrade their old desktop hardware running Windows 7 and 8, generating significant savings on licenses, hardware, and workforce expenses.

“All the features I mentioned can also be achieved with other operating systems, but you must buy many diverse products. Purchasing products in enterprises involves many, which take a lot of time. You also get plenty of people involved, and many licensing costs you pay, and many people have to manage, making a higher operational cost every year,” Gaurav said in his statement.

In Indonesia, Law No. 27 of 2022 on the Protection of Personal Data came into force on 17 October 2022, and the Government of India released a draft of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill in November 2022. To continue assisting businesses in securing their data, this year, Gaurav emphasized the company will continue to grow and put hard effort into creating market awareness by doubling its markets, covering Indonesia and India, and building localized products and solutions through comprehending the organization’s obstacles on the ground.

“We also see demand for building comparable features for other operating systems. However, we intend to focus on Evren OS and expand the tools that contribute to our customers to manage the other operating system in the long run,” concluded Evren’s CEO.
