Heaptalk, Jakarta — Muhammad Lutfi, The Minister of the Trade Republic of Indonesia, has revealed the initiation of The Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2021, the collaboration outcome of The Ministry of Trade, Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC), and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).
The festival will be held in Aquatic Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, On November 18th, 2021, as an early stage to introduce Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week by engaging talented designers in Muslim fashion.
“We would like to capture the strength of the Indonesian Muslim fashion market together, to prepare it as the Indonesian economic pillar in the future. The Ministry of Trade’s duty is being an aggregator of all stakeholders to bring Indonesia as the icon of the Muslim fashion in the world,” said Muhammad Lutfi in his statement during the press conference (11/11).
Svida Alisjahbana, Committee for Media Relations Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week, revealed her enthusiasm for the festival, “Muslim Fashion Indonesia has a great potential to be standed out on the international stage. The Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2021 event is an early move to conduct it. This series will launch next year as one of the 37th Trade Expo Indonesia. Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week will be a one-week fashion event that has an impact on Indonesia and the world for the upcoming year,”
Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week will introduce numerous designs of Indonesian Muslim fashion to the domestic and international trades at the beginning of the year implementation. The series of Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2021 events include a fashion show featuring 36 muslim fashion brands and discussions on the growth of Indonesia Muslim Fashion.
According to Global Religious Futures’s data, Indonesia is the largest Muslim population globally, with the number reaching 13% of the world’s Muslim population. This fact potentially promotes the significant growth of Muslim fashion in Indonesia. The State of Global Islamic Economic proved that the development of Muslim fashion industries in Indonesia is the second of the finest worldwide, by reaching US$21 billion and evenly 18,2% of the growth every year.
“The Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week can socialize the evolution of Indonesia Muslim fashion, notably the variety of products, to global trading. Thus, it can amplify the value of Muslim fashion, which is standardized with the necessity of the export market. We expect that Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week be able to deliver Indonesia grow into the world’s Muslim fashion center,” said Ali Charisma, Chairman of the Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC), as the representative of fashion Muslim Indonesia designers.
Therefore, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) presents the Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week festival as the initial move in establishing Indonesia’s position as the world’s Muslim fashion center. By holding Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week, Indonesian Muslim fashion is more capable of catching domestic and global business opportunities. The Embracing Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2021 festival will be presented live at the venue and online broadcast on the ‘Ministry of Commerce’ and ‘Expo 2020 Dubai’ YouTube video streaming service dedicated to fashion enthusiasts.
