East Kutai Disbud organizes the ‘Rembug Budaya’, discovering the cultural readiness of each district

Heaptalk, Jakarta — As a part of the local government’s effort to advance culture in East Kutai, the Cultural Office (Disbud) of the region conducted the Rembug Budaya 2022 activity. This event was opened by the Regent’s Expert Staff for Government, Law, and Politics, Tejo Yuwono, representing the East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah, in North Sangatta (11 /09).

During the occasion, Tejo affirmed this cultural agenda is expected to produce East Kutai’s readiness to show its identity in the series of the Sail Sangkulirang schedule. As it is known, the Rembug Budaya agenda has been organized twice to observe

“A culture must have a clear identity, starting from the uniqueness that can attract the tourist community,” explained Tejo ahead of the East Kutai DPRD member Yan Apuy, Forkopimda representatives, the head of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) representatives, traditional leaders, community leaders, and other guests.

In his further statement, Tejo elaborated on an example of an area that can introduce its region through culture, namely Yogyakarta, which can deliver its cultural uniqueness and generate its identity as the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). In addition, he noticed Bandung area also contains its peculiar dance of the region. Concurrently, Tejo also expects East Kutai can equal to the most phenomenal site in Indonesia, namely Bali, with numerous highlighted cultural wealth.

“They can bring up the region’s cultural heritage as the identity of the aspect possesses its uniqueness. For the East Kutai area, I observe several apparent cultural elements, including singing the Mars Kutai Timur song, which is also one of the cultural points,” Tejo said.

Previously, the Head of Cultural Service, Rodiansyah, revealed organizing the Rembug Budaya this year adopts the Readiness of North and South Sangatta Districts in the Context of Participation in Sail Sangkuriang 2024 as the theme to perceive the readiness of each sub-districts to develop the potential cultural elements.

“Through this cultural event, I look forward to cultural practitioners and activists providing fruitful suggestions and criticisms to elevate our artistic potential. Besides, I hope the advice will serve as a reference for our parties to participate in the upcoming Sail Sangkulirang,” concluded Tejo.
