Strategic cooperation with Bukalapak and the launch of new platforms will assist Crewdible in providing 500 to 600 warehouses while reaching over 10,000 MSMEs .

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based instant warehouse fulfillment startup, Crewdible has signed a strategic agreement with a well-known e-commerce platform Bukalapak. In addition to building strategic cooperation, Crewdible also has secured a Series A funding round for an undisclosed amount from Bukalapak.

Supported by fresh capital and the great ecosystem of the leading e-commerce companies in Indonesia, this startup is expected to steadily enhance its business operations. To attain this goal, the startup will launch several new technology infrastructures and reach a further business expansion vertically, specifically in the cold storage and FMCG sectors to tier two and three cities.

“We intend to create an integrated ecosystem that facilitates society to commence, develop, and reach a sustainable business. Through this investment agreement with Bukalapak, we expect to continue empowering our partners by providing the most excellent fulfillment service and simplifying our MSME partners to be more focused on evolving their products and brands,” The Founder and CEO of Crewdible, Dhana Galindra, affirmed. Becoming one of the strategic investors of Crewdible, CEO of Bukafinancial and Commerce Bukalapak, Victor Putra Lesmana, conveyed that the startup has a similar mission to Bukalapak, namely to expedite technology adoption around MSMEs ecosystem to create an efficient, sustainable business.

Established as a micro warehouse business model in 2017, Crewdible was inaugurated as Indonesia’s startup focusing on an online fulfillment service by putting forward a crowdsourcing system. Securing a previous investment from Angel Investors in 2019, the company empowers vacant warehouses or shops. Currently, Crewdible startup has more than 170 warehouse partners spread in more than 40 cities throughout Indonesia.

Referring to its planning this year, Crewdible aims to reach more MSMEs up to three times, compared to the former of around 10,000 MSMEs players. Also, the company aims to augment a warehouse fulfillment service establishment of about 500 to 600 warehouses by the end of 2023.

Launching a new platform to boost MSMEs’ business efficiency

Crewdible has unveiled two latest platforms, including Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Dropshipper Management System (DMS), to amplify fulfillment automation technology to achieve a scalable online business for Indonesia’s MSMEs. The launch of these new platforms is forecasted to boost business operations efficiency by up to 50%.

WMS platform is accessible for warehouse partners to capture every order of online merchants to immediately processed in a realtime and forward into the logistic divisions and addressed to the customers as the final shipping process. Meanwhile, to simplify online merchants in optimizing their drop shipper process, this startup also established a DMS feature whereby MSMEs can register their Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) to be resold by drop shippers, with more reasonable prices and benefits.

“Business practitioners are expected to comprehend that the transformation is one of the needed journeys extensively for their business continuity. Despite the technology adoption as the primary factor, strengthening the business core would also effectively position their business to continue growing in the new era,” Dhana concluded.
