Heaptalk, Jakarta — Marriot International Indonesia, a multinational hospitality company, has inaugurated #ByBaliForBali as the latest campaign. This newest campaign has been officially kicked off on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, with a dinner at St. Regis Bali Resort, Bali. The initiation of this campaign intends to espouse local Balinese industries and amplify the company’s commitment to supply its product locally in a large number.
The inaugural dinner marks the commencement of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bank of Indonesia, signed on November 30th, 2021. The MoU summarizes the collaboration between Marriott International in Indonesia with two leading food supply chain companies, Dharma Santhika Regional Public Company and UD Aditya Poultry Shop, to support the local Balinese agricultural and fishing industries. This cooperation aligns with Marriott’s Serve360 mandate, guided by Sustainability and Social Impact Goals 2025.
The Area Vice President of Marriot International in Indonesia, Ramesh Jackson, stated, “We are incredibly proud to see the #ByBaliForBali campaign take off with this inaugural dinner at The St.Regis Bali Resort. This timely and strategic collaboration with the Bank of Indonesia plays a pivotal role in supporting Bali’s local enterprises and tourism recovery in Bali for local sources by ensuring a substantial amount of all products locally in 2025. This early step towards the proper direction to reach a better and sustainable future,”
This hospitality brand presented Bali’s signature servings for the attendees in the inaugural dinner, including Sate Lilit, Sate Ayam, and Sate Bali as the award-winning dish to appreciate the culinary team clinched the Gold Medal at the National Competition by Worldchefs in 2018.
Furthermore, this multinational company served Daluman Ice, Bali’s favorite traditional drink, to accompany the side dishes. This drink comprises green grass jelly, and the naturally sourced ingredient is then mixed with coconut milk, palm sugar, and ice cubes for a freshen drink. Daluman Ice is high in fiber, low in calories, and antioxidants. The chlorophyll of the jelly grants health benefits in a tropical paradise, particularly in Bali, for both locals and visitors alike.
The indicator for the #ByBaliForBali campaign activations is to concern the spotlight on the abundance of locally available agricultural, fishery, and artisans products such as Balinese wine and Balinese batik (endek). The campaign is also inspired by the growing global movement towards sustainability and embracing produce closer to home.
Likewise, Ramesh added his statement, “Sustainability goes hand in hand with reducing our carbon footprint and elevating the beloved island’s culinary heritage to the next level with the ethos of sourcing more produce locally and paying homage to preserve mother nature,”
The collaboration aligns with the Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction, company’s sustainability and social impact platform, which guides Marriott’s commitment to contributing take on the world’s most pressing social, environmental, and economic issues, delivering value for associates, customers, owners, the environment, and communities across the globe.
