The partnership program of Amartha and BroilerX targets hundreds of breeders spread across the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Central Java, and East Java.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Amartha Mikro Fintek (Amartha) announced its strategic collaboration with farming company BroilerX to disburse the capital worth US$6.5 million (around Rp100 billion), devoted to the BroilerX’s-assisted breeders with financing amounts from Rp100 to Rp700 million rupiah for each person.
According to the company, this collaboration between Amartha and BroilerX has commenced as of June 2023 through the Partner Farming Partnership program. This partnership program targets hundreds of breeders spread across the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Central Java, and East Java to have the opportunity to receive a working capital loan facility from Amartha.
In more detail, as Amartha’s Partnership Lending partner, BroilerX furnishes numerous products and services, covering partnership programs for breeders, smart farming or Internet of Things (IoT) based chicken coop environmental control devices, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and chicken supplies.
Head of Business Partnership Lending of Amartha, Adityo Putranto, delivered, “This collaboration is a form of our commitment to encouraging sustainable digital transformation in rural areas, one of which is in the livestock sector,”
Adityo, in his further statement, explained that MSMEs in the livestock sector generally operate at the village scale, with minimal access to inclusive financial services and technology. For this reason, Indonesian breeders can access inclusive financial services from Amartha and adopt the innovative farming technology that BroilerX provides to create a profitable collaborative climate by utilizing technology.
Furthermore, in this collaboration, the financing system used is claimed to be diverse from the joint responsibility system that Amartha has implemented to distribute capital for the ultra-micro women entrepreneurs. However, Indonesian poultry breeders can apply for financing to purchase technology-based livestock equipment of BroilerX to increase production capacity.
On the other hand, Indonesian breeders also contain different financing tenors than Amartha’s female partners. Through the Partner Farming Partnership program, farmers can choose a shorter financing tenor according to the harvest period in the livestock sector, from 45 days to 90 days. In channeling capital to farmers, this fintech company operates Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based risk-profiling technology to generate a more accurate credit score.
“As we know, the problems assisted breeders face are related to productivity and financing access. We frequently observe breeders who are set up with knowledge and expertise but are hampered by the capital to be able to develop. For this reason, we need cooperation with other partners with credibility regarding financial inclusion.” The CEO of BroilerX, Prastyo Ruandhito, said.
