Koltiva has expanded its business reach globally in 52 countries and possesses over 1 million producers from 6,800 businesses.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s farming and supply chain traceability startup, Koltiva, has snagged undisclosed Series A funding led by AC Ventures. Multiple investors join the round, spanning Silverstrand Capital, Planet Rise, Development Finance Asia, Blue 7, and The Meloy Fund as existing investors.

This agritech startup will allocate the capital to enhance its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, which is expected to enable multinational companies to have supply chain traceability from seed to table.

By providing comprehensive seed-to-table traceability, the Co-founder and CEO of Koltiva, Manfred Borer, continues to empower corporations to navigate the dynamic landscape of evolving regulations and sustainable practice compliance while developing smallholder producers’ livelihoods. Further, he intends to foster a beneficial ecosystem for global brands while uplifting the supply chain’s grassroots level.

Furthermore, on the technological side, the company provides producer profiling and plot mapping, seed-to-table traceability, training, and coaching with its field experts and agronomist team. On the climate front, Koltiva is building products to help with greenhouse gas assessments (GHGs). The team also offers clients climate-smart farm support, land use mapping, and risk alerts.

The company’s relevance is amplified by new and strict regulations such as the EU’s Deforestation-Free Product Regulation (EUDR), which the European Council mandates. This policy requires companies to prove deforestation’s absence in their products and comply with legal standards. As a result, more than 50,000 EU-based companies are now required to comply with these regulations, and non-EU companies that engage in significant activities in the EU must also ensure their compliance.

For this reason, Koltiva continues to elevate its service by offering comprehensive web and mobile applications to manage farming activity, such as producers’ registration process, deforestation mapping, and greenhouse gas emission on farms measurement.

Based in Indonesia, Koltiva has expanded its business reach globally. The team works with producers in 52 countries; almost half of these smallholders are in Indonesia. The rest are spread across Brazil, China, and the Ivory Coast. This startup has over 1 million producers from 6,800 businesses, indicating a significant need for innovative food supply chain tracing and climate tech offerings.

“As multinational businesses lean more toward sustainability, Indonesia’s Koltiva is poised to be a significant player in ensuring transparent supply chains. By bolstering the livelihoods of small-scale farmers in emerging markets and helping them to adjust to climate change, this startup is a great example of how modern tech can reshape conventional industries, deliver global impact, and establish a more environmentally sustainable future for the next generations,” The Managing Partner of AC Ventures, Helen Wong, affirmed.

To strengthen its traceability service, Koltiva startup continues to develop its seed-to-table traceability software to ensure that the journey from input materials through farm operations and distribution to the final consumer is transparent. The innovation is claimed to bolster large multinationals and enterprises to trace the origin of their food supply, which comes from smallholder producers in the archipelago and other countries where this company operates.
