Heaptalk, Jakarta — Cloud technology, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence are becoming more accessible and impacting almost every aspect of human life, from writing emails and developing software to detecting disease early.
Innovations in fields that democratize access to technology also continue to increase in balancing daily activities more quickly, including the development of Generative AI technology.
According to the Chief Technologist for Asia Pacific at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Olivier Klein, cloud developments will evolve with the massive adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2024. He perceived that one of the most critical improvements is Generative AI training based on the Large Language Model (LMM) across cultures and languages to generate a suitable result culturally.
“I realize many LLMs are still trained using English and are oriented towards Western culture. Therefore, one of the things we are investing in at AWS is training LLMs based on more diverse languages and cultural contexts, including in Indonesia itself.” Klein affirmed.
In the Generative AI realms, AWS perceived that coding assistant applications would be used for more applications, including designing and building complex systems in increasingly faster times, and as an educational tool for learning to code.
“I think the most important thing here is we continue to invest strongly into the Gen AI space and also connect the space into our existing offerings around data analytics and the data lakes that our customers have built on top of us,” Klein said.
On the other hand, the company claimed that cloud technology for women’s health services (FemTech) will also significantly develop this year. Diagnostic accuracy can be improved with soaring investment in this sector and increasing data. As the stigma surrounding women’s health needs recedes and funding flows more into the industry, AWS notices FemTech sector companies continuing to address previously overlooked conditions actively.
Cloud technology trends will also evolve massively in the education sector. According to Klein, conventional education that has been rote only will not answer the industry’s need to obtain skilled workers due to rapid technological developments.
“Education space or how we learn, how to code, how to build things, how to get answers, will shift with a Generative AI contribution. That’s why we continue investing in AI-ready programs,” Klein said. (02/06)
