Seizing popularity in recent times, the technology is considered to shook cybersecurity world as it can be utilized to conduct cyberattack directly, make dangerous content, and even create automatic attack.
In the forum, it spotlighted the potential future threats that needed to be a real concern, spanning sophisticated phishing attacks, deepfakes for social engineering, and AI model vulnerabilities.
The development of AI contributes to the production of advanced phishing attack by generating more convincing and personalized phishing emails or messages. The features will make people hard to distinguish the real email and the phishing one.
Meanwhile, with the support of deepfake, hacker can manipulate audio or video for malicious purposes, such as damage someone’s reputation or influence public opinion. The AI model vulnerabilities also opens an opportunity for hackers to steal information and disrupt operation.
Moreover, the report says around 28 million URL have been blocked in Q4 2023, this number falls by 36% compared to Q4 2022. Further, 33.4% of the entire emails are spams and 1.5% contains malware or phishing. The giant cybersecurity company also reported has found 1,353 ransomware cases in Q4 2023.
