Heaptalk, Jakarta — A renewable energy startup based in Indonesia, Xurya has performed a strategic partnership with PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk to expedite the New and Renewable Energy (NRE) sector by utilizing a Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Indonesia.
In this cooperation, these entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to combine their expertise and resources to increase society’s access to clean energy and reduce carbon footprints through the Rooftop PLTS utilization.
This collaboration is expected to be a big step in encouraging positive transformation in the renewable energy sector. As the next step of this collaboration, Xurya and Samator will strengthen their innovation to increase the use of Rooftop PLTS in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Responding to this strategic collaboration, the Director of PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk, Imelda Harsono, claimed that Samator has carried out various efforts to increase the energy efficiency of its business processes and reduce emissions from national scale operations by adopting renewable energy using solar energy. Along with this strategic affiliation, she has a robust confidence in providing renewable energy that is accessible to society.
As is known, Semator has been a pioneer in installing a 1 MegaWatt capacity solar panel system at its gas production plant in Gresik, East Java, since 2016. With this collaboration, Samator plans to continue increasing the number of solar power plants and expand its services to fulfill the company’s environmental commitment.
Based on the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) document submitted to the Paris Agreement, Indonesia has independently committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 29% by 2030 and around 41% with international assistance. This intention is further amplified by the archipelago’s involvement in the COP26 Glasgow 2021, whereby Indonesia’s government has showcased the capability of the country to contribute to accelerating Net Zero Emissions globally.
The Managing Director of Xurya delivered, “As a company operating in the NRE sector, Xurya is carrying out various partnerships with various parties with the same vision. Through the strategic collaboration with Samator, we are delighted about this collaboration to create a more significant impact on the environment and society in Indonesia,”
Hitherto, Xurya has tackled over 100 Rooftop PLTS projects spread across Medan, Palembang, Lampung, West Java, Banten DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali and Makassar. This Rooftop PLTS project is estimated to be able to produce more than 150 million kWh of clean energy and contribute to reducing more than 134 million kg of CO2 gas emissions.
