Heaptalk, Jakarta — In conjunction with National Elderly Day 2025, Unicharm Indonesia and the Clinical Research Supporting Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (CRSU-FKUI) announced research findings showing that Lifree breathable adult diapers (tape-type, made with 100% breathable material) can help improve skin health and enhance sleep quality in the elderly.
“Our observations found that breathable diapers help keep skin dry and healthy while reducing irritation, a common cause of pressure ulcers (bedsores),” said Rinadewi Astriningrum from the FKUI research team on Wednesday (05/28) at the Mandarin Hotel, Jakarta.
She also noted that sleep quality improved among Lifree users, with fewer sleep disturbances. Another researcher from FKUI, Dinda Larastika Riyanto, explained that sleep quality was evaluated using smartwatches and specialized questionnaires. “Although daytime drowsiness was still observed, the use of Lifree diapers showed a reduction in nighttime sleep disruptions and an overall improvement in sleep efficiency,” she said.
Takumi Terakawa, President Director of Unicharm Indonesia, stated that these findings reinforce Lifree’s commitment to innovation for the elderly. He stated, “We believe that maintaining healthy skin and quality sleep are key to a better life for the elderly. Our products are designed to help achieve that.”
Takumi also emphasized that Lifree will continue supporting government efforts to reduce pressure ulcer cases and improve seniors’ quality of life. “We want to be part of the solution in building a healthy, comfortable, and dignified society,” he concluded.
