Heaptalk, Jakarta — Gojek has officially introduced its latest restaurant dining service, GoDineIn (07/11). This service offers vouchers for dining at selected restaurants with discounts of up to 25%, accessible through the GoDineIn feature on the Gojek app.
This latest feature is available exclusively in Jakarta, collaborating with several renowned restaurants: Cut & Grill, Common Grounds, Braud, Seroeni, Kintaro Sushi, and Warung Tekko. The launch of this feature is driven by the urban lifestyle in major cities, where people enjoy going to restaurants or cafes to socialize, celebrate moments, or hang out while eating.
“At Gojek, we always look at what our users need. Among food enthusiasts, we see several types based on their motivations for eating, such as functional eaters, social eaters, reasonable indulgers, mindful eaters, and food enthusiasts,” stated Ignatius Satrio, Head of Marketing Food & Ads at Gojek, as quoted by Kontan.
Social phenomenon of gathering and sharing
In more detail, Gojek‘s internal research shows that social eaters, mindful eaters, and food enthusiasts tend to be highly interested in social activities and enjoy dining out. Satrio added, “This is why GoDineIn is present to provide an exciting culinary experience for dining in or at restaurants, complementing the online food delivery service GoFood, which has become ingrained in Indonesian society.”
The social phenomenon of gathering and sharing moments together aligns with findings from the Ipsos Global study Global Happiness 2024 Report, which revealed that Indonesia is the happiest country in Southeast Asia or the third happiest in the world.
Interestingly, relationships with family and friends are among the most essential variables determining Indonesians’ happiness. The satisfaction levels regarding family relationships and friendships in Indonesia are high, at 89% and 85%, respectively, surpassing the global average.
