Heaptalk, Jakarta — In the Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said the number of foreign tourist visits will reach 1.04 million trips in March 2024. According to the Minister, this output decreased by around 1.91% compared to February 2024.
“This number of visits decreased compared to last February when it reached 19.86%,” added Minister Sandiaga Uno.
Furthermore, Sandiaga Uno explained that Indonesia’s government recorded foreign tourists visiting Indonesia, including Malaysia 15.38%, Australia 11.92%, and Singapore 11.52% of the total of 1.04 million visits in March 2024.
“Accumulatively, the number of foreign tourist visits increased by around 25.43% in January – March 2024, compared to last year (YoY). An increase in visits was recorded at Ngurah Rai Airport, reaching 31.49%, and Soekarno Hatta Airport at 33.03%,” Minister Sandiaga Uno conveyed.
Meanwhile, the government recorded that room occupancy rates in star-rated hotels reached 43.41% in March 2024, with the average duration of guest stays being around 1 – 7 nights.
“We are grateful for this figure. The government hopes to impact the development of the tourism sector and creative economy,” The Minister concluded.
