Heaptalk, Jakarta — Prudential Indonesia and Sharia launched PRUWell Medical and PRUWell Medical Sharia in Jakarta. (05/07)

PRUWell Medical and PRUWell Medical Sharia offer affordable premiums as appreciation for policyholders who continue maintaining their health. In addition to providing customer-oriented financial protection, customers will receive optimal premium benefits or contributions based on their health risk profile.

These insurance products respond to Prudential Indonesia’s significant increase in health claims, which reached USD335 million (around Rp 5.4 trillion), approximately 19% compared to the former. This increase in health claims was due to a significant increase in several components, such as inner limit health claims, as-charged health claims, and crisis coverage claims. Regarding the type of as-charged health claims combined, there will be an increase of 38% in 2022 in the context of claims for breast cancer, coronary heart disease, digestive tract infections, stomach gastritis, and pneumonia.

“Amidst the challenges of high medical inflation, Prudential Indonesia has experienced positive growth in 2023, marking increased public awareness of health insurance. We believe that providing long-term protection and financial stability from various life risks is a responsibility we must carry out well. For this reason, we launched PRUWell Medical as a solution to current obstacles,” Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Prudential Indonesia, Karin Zulkarnaen, affirmed.

On the other hand, the high number of health insurance claims creates challenges for insurance companies in adjusting premium costs to align with the optimal protection services provided. For this reason, customers can utilize PRUWell Medical and PRUWell Medical Sharia products in more than 300 PRUPriority Hospitals networks on a cashless and reimbursement basis at health service centers throughout Indonesia.

By using PRUWell products, customers can experience the benefits of PRUPriority Hospital and Value Added Services (VAS) services. They can also participate in programs from Prudential Indonesia’s partner hospitals, such as promotions to get Obgyn examination facilities, Mammography Scans, pap smear screenings, Vitamin Infusion, and Thyroid Screening. PRUWell Medical and PRUWell Medical Sharia also grant premium relief rewards of up to 20% when extending insurance.

“PRUWell Medical Syariah is expected to help manage personal protection and bring value that can contribute to participants, especially when health claims occur.” Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Sharia, Paul Setio Kartono, said.
