Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) and PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah) unveiled the latest health service PRUPriority Hospitals to enhance the effectiveness of the inpatient claims underwriting process for customers.
The President Director of Prudential Indonesia, Michellina Laksmi Triwardhany, stated, “PRUPriority Hospital is part of the company’s steps in maintaining customer trust and supporting government efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency of health services, especially regarding the health insurance claim verification process.
The company observed that Indonesia still has several challenges with tariffs for medical care services. As the Mercer Marsh Benefits report revealed, the archipelago is experiencing the challenge of media cost inflation continuing to increase, predicted to reach 13.6% this year. This prediction exceeds the projected medical inflation in Asia of 11.5% and Indonesia’s financial inflation of 5.5% in 2022.
The Indonesian Life Insurance Association also stated a significant increase of up to 35.3% in health insurance claim payments in the first semester of this year. In addition, this insurance company also perceived the archipelago still needs to finalize medical service rates properly.
By providing this health service, Prudential Indonesia’s PRUPriority Hospitals is offered to respond to the existing turbulences related to the market condition and health expenses. In the early phase of the launch of PRUPriority Hospitals, this insurance company partnered strategically with 142 local hospitals spread over 20 provinces.
The core form of partnership is an agreement regarding estimating treatment costs and speeding up customers’ medical treatment verification process. From now on, this partnership will continue to be expanded. PRUPriority Hospital services are expected to reach around 500 hospitals in Indonesia that have partnered with this insurance company.
“We look forward to simplifying the hospitalization process for customers because of transparent costs with an approved medical process. We will continue strengthening quality services by creating more sustainable health protection for customers,” concluded Michellina.
