Heaptalk, Jakarta — Oreo, one of the brands under Mondelez Indonesia, has announced a donation of 2.5% of its sales profits to support education, aiming to benefit 1,500 orphaned children. This initiative is part of a program titled ‘Oreo Berbagi Serunya Berilmu,’ meaning Oreo shares the joy of knowledge (03/17).
Zaenal Abidin, Director of PT Mondelez Indonesia Manufacturing, explained that this program is part of Mondelez Indonesia’s ongoing commitment, through the Oreo brand, to spread goodwill by creating more moments of happiness for Indonesian society. The brand is produced in Cikarang, West Java, which serves as a production hub, meeting the needs of 40 countries in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, including Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Therefore, he affirmed that Oreo has continued to grow alongside Indonesian families for 30 years.
“We always strive to deliver the joy embedded in our snacks to create moments of togetherness for Indonesian families. We believe that every child has extraordinary potential and dreams. With access to education, the opportunity to achieve a better life in the future becomes greater, and this will serve as a driving force to advance the nation in the years to come,” Zaenal said.
Implemented gradually over 6 months

Vivi Andriani, Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed appreciation for the launch of this program to support the education of orphaned children across various regions in Indonesia. She emphasized that children, as the next generation, are an essential investment for the nation’s future.
“Therefore, we highly appreciate the steps Oreo took to help realize the dreams of Indonesian children, which aligns with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education’s priority programs in fulfilling children’s basic rights, particularly in education. We hope this initiative can continue sustainably and reach more layers of society to participate, thereby helping to realize the dreams of more Indonesian children,” she explained.
Anggya Kumala, Marketing Director of Mondelez Indonesia, stated that the program, officially launched in March 2025, will be implemented gradually over six months, with a target of 1,500 orphaned children as beneficiaries. For the first implementation phase, the company has partnered with SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia to distribute educational donations of the sales profits to children from elementary to high school levels.
The beneficiaries of the first phase include orphaned children under the care of SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia, spread across various regions in Indonesia, such as Banda Aceh, Meulaboh, Medan, Jakarta, Lembang, Semarang, Bali, and Flores. The donations include school supplies such as laptops, school bags, and learning tools provided by the Surya Institute, making the learning process more enjoyable.
