Heaptalk, Jakarta — OCBC NISP officially rebranded with the new name and logo ‘OCBC’ which is effective as of November 14, 2023.
The company first introduced the fresh branding at the OCBC Experience event at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place SCBD, South Jakarta (11/14). This event was held to spread inspiration through business, economic, and political insights which was enlivened by music and dance performances by 200 Indonesian artists, including Anggun C. Sasmi.
According to OCBC Indonesia President Director Parwati Surjaudaja, this name and logo change is part of a transformation that encourages the company to continue to level up and grow sustainably. “As part of the OCBC Group, we are committed to supporting Indonesia’s economic growth, as well as helping people achieve their financial aspirations in ASEAN, Greater China, and beyond,” said Parwati.
This change in brand name and logo does not affect the Bank’s legal name, namely PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk. Previously, similar changes were announced in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau on July 3, 2023. China will be the last country to announce the new brand and logo next December.
Following Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau
Meanwhile, Group CEO of OCBC Helen Wong conveyed, “Today Indonesia is following the steps of Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau which are our main markets, as well as other advanced economic countries such as London, New York, and Sydney in launching ‘OCBC’ as latest brand name and logo.”
Helen said that amidst increasing geopolitical tensions and increasingly challenging economic conditions, the trade and investment sectors throughout ASEAN and Greater China still have great opportunities and are even continuing to increase. “We are optimistic about Indonesia’s long-term economic growth, therefore, we will continue to invest in this country, to support needs and help realize customers’ aspirations, to continue together, going far,” he added.
Further, this change is claimed to increase access to the utilization of multiple strengths and resources of the OCBC Group as one of the banking groups in Southeast Asia. In this way, OCBC can offer a wider choice of banking and non-banking products and services to customers, with access to regional and global markets. (Translated by Sinta)
